Now for a new amp and headphones.

snap!

I've replaced the philips with a qed qunex one now and am using the philips for the mp3 player :p

I also noticed the coloured bands on the left/right leads were the wrong way round, i wondered why the left channel sounded like it was the right channel!

Is that a qed qunex 2jp cable why is the cable silver i thought they only come in blue ?

Mine? Made by Philips, there is defiantly an improvement over the 'generic' cable I was using.

I thought it was a QED too when I saw mrk's.

£20 though, I know it isn't much compared to what you can pay but

Mine seems to be the right way around...

Perhaps the batch the seller had were the wrong way round :p I have 2 Philips and both were the wrong way round, simple case of taking of the rubber coloured band and putting it on the other cable though :p

The QED comes in white or blue btw, the silver one pictured above is a Philips, the QED is pictured below :)

Going to try THIS cable hand made looks like a very high quality cable.

For £18 you can get a QED one mate factory fitted and QED quality.

^where I got mine

The problem with the qed cable by the looks of it,the plug is it to wide to get 4 in row on a Auzentech X-Meridian sound card ? need it for htpc use.

hmm I don't know how close together the sockets are on that soundcard but yeah I'd imagine if they are close together there would be a prob! - the squeeze is tight enough with standard 3.5mm cables!

just got my new hifi :) loving the sound which seems to be getting deeper and clearer every hour it's on. being a newbie to all this seperates stuff i have a few q's, the "pre-amp/main in" link things on the back, i've noticed some people are using interconnects? on those instead, why?

i'm guessing if i want to record amp to line in soundcard i connect tape-out to line-in soundcard yeah?

I got the Audiophile SA07 today for a bargaintastic £8something , it's absolutely superb quality and heavy duty but the surrounding of each plug is perhaps a bit too tight in fitting, I had to fight to get it into the preamp>poweramp - the fit to the jacks were very tight, might have to widen the surrounding pins out a bit so they fit!

heres half of my sound system.. i have 5 amplifiers, the main amplifier is on top of the table.. behind the red subwoofer is another one, they are both 500watts. the gray box is another subwoofer with amplifier 450watts. i have 18 pairs of speakers as u can see some, and some are under my bed lol..

And I bet they all play in fantastic harmony ;) :p

I could really do with some new stuff. Not because any of mine has died (my Yammy 620 still going on strong after all these years) but I'd just fancy a change.

I'd like a nice stereo amp to get the best out of these B&Ws not to mention some floorstanding fronts and a centre.

Got a fairly big room here and am just wasting the space :(

Woot just got me a Rotel RB1070 Power Amp. Buying it seemed like a waste of money when i need an AV Amp but jeez what a great waste. Sounds much better than it did.

Hey Marv, nice setup you've got there now :)

I remember the first time you came to mine and I showed you my system. What was your reply? Something like "There's no need for that kind of hi-fi."

And look what you've ended up spending a fair bit of money on :p

I've got a Rotel RA-930AX Stereo Amp you could have cheap if you fancied it?

:( If it wasn't for me being made redundant at the end of June I'd have taken you up on that.

Thanks anyway :)

Oh, e-mail me your number (in trust). Don't think I have it anymore.
