Whats wrong with wireless mouses? the one I have does not lag, only when I move really fast but thats because its only 800dpi, a decent wireless mouse should have no problems

which one? G7 laser? mx revolution?

they may be very good no doubt but for fast paced FPS, its always wired for the win. there is no argument there.

Another problem i've experienced with mice, is that tracking is very poor without a decent mouse mat anyways, which results in judder and skipping. Again making high end FPS like CSS impossible.

There is far too much lag to play a game like CSS which is mission crictical gaming unless you like to get pwned. You could easily game like CnC3 and i'd accept that is possible (Infact I do game that).

Another problem is that it is difficult to see small objects far away in the game on the TV when you are sitting 10 feet from the screen.

Wireless is fine if you have the receiver on a desk but at longer range its even poor,

I've got the mx1000 btw and mx610 before you mention that, not even a scratch on a good wired mouse like mx518.

Keyboards I found were unable to handle multiple simultaneous key-presses but I'm using a MCE keyboard so perhaps that is why.

I play CSS daily and certainly don't get "pwnd" and see no lag at all, I have 3 MX1000 mice and a Logitech S510 wireless keyboard and play on a 20" Dell 2007WFP with little issues at all.

On a large screen you can easily sit further away without losing the ability to see but if you've got a 17"/19" screen then yeah....you need to sit closer - not a big deal though ?

Multiple keys on the Logitech gear is flawless too, I have no problems mashing as many keys as I can at once. No problems... Others who have the same or similar branded setup as me will confirm this.

Perhaps you're just too 1337 though dude.

Yes, lets compare mediocre mice with something designed for games.

Of course you can use the wireless kb/mouse on desk when the receiver is on the desk. I'm specifically pointing out that is not the case when the receiver is 10 feet away in the living room?

Also kb/mouse on a couch doesn't work like gamepad, its not comfortable as a desk either.

There are practical issues as well.

Anyways enough of thread trashing, I'll post my setup in a bit to get this thread back on track :)

So you agree there is lag then?

I can only vouch for kit that I have. and i haven't tested the g7 or mx revolution.

I didn't say there wasn't lag. You stated as a matter of fact that wireless would just not work. Obviously depending on what equipment you use, some things would be better than others. You can't claim something is impossible because you're too cheap to buy decent equipment.

Well the MS keyboard he has may not be decent but the MX1000 certainly is! and it certainly isn't laggy unless his is somehow faulty or has a rev1 base which had known issues so Logitech replaced them for free later on.

I think its not as good as wired regardless.
I think in a game like CSS that matters.
I think gaming without a desk is uncomfortable.
Period.

Its is a rev1 but the usb > ps2 adapter fixed that problem with the skipping.

Well I'm not a CSS player but with my G7 and Apple bluetooth keyboard I still manage to get a decent KDR. I wonder how good I would be if I actually put some effort into liking the game.

Just got my new wired gear today,

Razer Krait mouse, works fine on the carpet and MS comfort curve 2000 keyboard.

Only cost me £35ish for both and I'm extremely impressed with the tracking on the krait.

Certainly solved the lag problem still not very comfortable.

Giddy, move the centre from inside the oppo (it'll sound boomy)
denon, same move the subwoofer.

B&W speakers are the sexiest hi-fi kit I've seen in a while. Expensive though!

No they're not expensive, they're affordable CC/601 range, roughly £200. Pretty much cheapest (quality) speakers you can buy. £200 is area where speakers are worthwhile.

Using spare B&W 601 on PC system.

Trick, I would sell the 8000A and buy a 8000SX or 8000PX, and bi-amp your speakers. Those MA do need a fair bit of juice to open up.

spm_uk, raise those speakers.

I went PS crazy and can't decide what images to use in one post.

This is my current setup. Thinking about upgrading to a 40"+, Elite, new cables and a new stand because wood is so... 1950s...

Panasonic CRT
First let us morn over the best CRT I ever owned. I bought her for £600 when everyone was buying the Samsung LCDs. I managed to grab one of the last ones at the time. However after one week the tube went (might of been my sub lol) and.. well you can see what I replaced it with.
