It wasnt too hard...just took a while and was a nightmare on a hot day!!(The heat just sits in the loft and you'll sweat buckets doing the littlest job)

so far ive got:

Sony MDR-V700DJ - seemed a good idea at the time, but in terms of sound quality they are below average. great for gaming though as they are foldable.

Audio-Technica ATH-A900 - my latest purchase to replace the sonys. imported from japan and are the best pair ive ever listened to. very comfy and the isolation is a lot better as well :)

next on the menu will be a good amp so i can invest in other interesting headphones such as a pair of Sennheiser HD600 or some medium/high end Grados.

need to get a new TV later this year. I'm looking to spend about a grand and was thinking about a 32" CRT. Any suggestions?

NAD T751 AV amp. I Got my xbox acting as a HTPC. its on my LAN to stream MP3s and avi from my server upstairs. I love my xboxs optical out :p

and a pair of these wharefdale bipolars on the back wall

Got all this lovely gear delivered yesterday, not the most fantastic kit, but the price was right and it looks and performs fantastically well compared to our previous Mitsubishi TV and Aiwa hi-fi.:p

I just need to get round to sorting the cables out now that I have everything working. Had a few teething problems with the TV but now everything's fine and i'm really pleased with the setup. I hope to add a sub-woofer to the system as I think that would finish it off quite nicely.

Alexkerhead, I love the reel to reel player. One of my friend's dad has got one. Apparently it sounds really nice, but I've never had the guts to use it seeing as it's not mine! Do you have many tapes for it?

Just makes me want to get something a bit vintage like that or an old turntable. When did they stop selling reel to reel tapes?

Thank you, took me forever to save up for it..
I have 45 blank tapes and about 20 misc albums, like beetles..etc..
I think they stopped selling reel to reel albums 15 or so years ago, but I baught some new blanks 3 years ago..
The sound quality can be compared to older compact discs.
Also, Yamaha Direct drive variable turn table on the way..
I also just recently got a Electrophonic cassette deck, and it is very nice..
And Pioneer SX-950 reciever coming..
All need repairing that i am getting soon, but they are worth it..
I will post more pics when I get all my stuff ready..
