Really love such threads, and makes me "plan ahead". I'm looking to buy a house soonish and having threads like that would be of great help.

I'm quite interested in how you networked the house, and the speakers in the ceiling :)

Current home cinema setup

Just found this forum and in the middle of sorting out my new house but the current home cinema kit is -

Denon AVC-A1XV 10-channel amp
Denon DVD-3910 DVD player
Custom built Media PC
SKY HD
Pioneer PDP-5000EX 50" 1080p Plasma
B&W 803S front speakers
B&W HTM3 centre speaker
B&W CDM 1NT SE rear surround speakers
M&K V125 sub

Also running the excellent Sonos system throughout the house.

Currently thinking about ditching the Denon amp and going back to seperates and going down the Meridian route, but not quite sure yet. Think I might wait until a processor comes along that can deal with HDMI v1.3 and the latest audio formats.

I would post some pics, but not allowed :(

Dont know, it just says in the posting rules box that I am not allowed to post attachments...

Anyway, the living room is currently in a state with cables being chased in and plasterers around... once its done I'll get some pics.

My much-loved and ageing system is used mainly to play my much-loved and ageing vinyl collection.

Linn LP12 Turntable
Linn Ittok LVII tonearm
Linn Asaka Cartridge

Naim NAC62 Pre-Amplifier
Naim Snaps Power supply
Naim NAP 140 Power Amplifier

Naim NAT 101 FM Tuner

Epos ES14 Speakers.

My ears are probably ageing as well, but I have yet to hear a system that I could could come close to affording that sounds half as good as my 20 year old kit.

Thought id post my humble set up as I got my new LCD today:

Sony Bravia 32" KDL32S2530 LCD
Shuttle HTPC with Samsung 931c LCD
Xbox 360
Panasonic SA-PM28 mini Hifi

Next upgrade is to get in an AV amp and get everything hooked up to that with some better speakers. Then a decent DVD player.

Just got my Philips interconnect to replace the Tech-Link cable I had connected from PC to amp, the new cable appears to pick up some more detail and has a nicer bass note to the lower range too.

Damn ^ that's expensive I bet :S

I've finally updated mine just how I like it, waiting for the amp to break in though and new cables arrived today.

So all finished in order of connectivity:

> SB XFI
> QED Qunex interconnect
> NAD C 320BEE (selling the Rotel RA-02, my speakers needed a bit more bass so needed a bit more power without too much extra cost, solution = C 320BEE!)
<> Monster Interlink 301 cable for the pre/main bridge
> Gale speaker cables

The Rotel looks sexier by a truckload but mehhhh!
