Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

lol dude you think i don't know that? it's not easy arranging the room around the hifi when the whole poxy room is built into itself. I know it sounds crap, but there's little I can do when I have a bulky tv, a small room and a stupid built-in cupboard. :(

aye, have the same sorta problem in our room - unfortuently the priority in that room is it being a socible front room, TV + Hifi + speakers comes second.. otherwise i would totaly change it :P

I never assume anyone knows anything anymore until they prove otherwise. I didn't mean any offence it's constructive criticism is all. I only picked your set-up out, as it happened to be the one I was looking at, at the time.

Please may I have some constructive criticsism?! :D

Here

Thanks,

Sure, well not so much criticsism as advice; buy some hifi components and some real speakers :p

Fair-do's, sorry for jumping down your throat. This room gets to me, the accoustics are worse than a giant tin box, and there's nowhere to put anything. Suckage for hifi/HT

Was thinking more along the lines of setup advice, but new speakers sound awesome! You're paying right? :p I don't think my setup is too shabby for a student ;)

well I only have a camera phone so apologies for the sub parr pics but I thought I might as well show you what I have:

Audio

Amp: Pioneer SX-550 (This was my dad's first proper amp and still works a treat )
CD Player: Technics SL-PG580A (my first proper cd player and still going strong, although not used a lot these days)
Speakers: Kenwood KL-4040 (Again from my dad's old system)

Visual

TV: Sony KDFE50U12A 50" Rear Projection 3LCD
XBOX 360 Premium (Connected via component) with HD-DVD Drive
Nintendo Wii (connect via Scart)
MCE 2K5 (Connected via HDMI)

Fairly basic I know but it does everything I want. Next thing I think i will get is a surround sound setup to take full advantage of the HD-DVD movies.

edit: you may notice the 14" portable that is sat their. my first ever tv, 20 or so years ago which I just don't have the heart to throw out as it still works. (plus was my main tv until I got the Sony) :) although really need tofind a home for it somewhere.

Its just a shame that the pictures don't really show the full glory of the hd pictures.

Got myself a lovely new TV and Stand to go with the XBOX360.

Bloody thing barely fits on my cabinet, the base is the width of the cabinet. THe sounds a bit naff, so ive hooked up my PC speakers as my PC runs through my hifi now, sounds so much better.

Just cleaned my desk up so thought pics were in order.

PC with POLAROID FLU-2632 26" HDTV and LG 1710B 17" Monitor. Use my Logitech Z5400's for surround sound on films.

Hi-fi - Technics ST-HD55, DVD Player - Sharp DV-SV80. TV Goes through the Technics on Aux.

All together with the Sennheiser RS 120 Wireless Headphones

Amp: Audiolab 8000s
The Audiolab 8000a is unused atm
DVD: Sony DVP-NS76H
CD: Arcam cd72 (in storage)
Speakers: Monitor Audio RS6
LCD: Hyundai A321 with Wharfdale Diamond Pros as speakers
Chord Chrysalis and CA Pacific Interconnects
Gale XL315 speaker cable bi-wired, CA banana-plugs all round
HTPC pushing HD content to the LCD and MP3s to the Amp

Upgrade thoughts:

Some sort of AV amp. The Diamond Pros will do for rears and I'll get a decent centre.

Possibly a Power amp at some stage.

CD Storage & Bigger Bookcase.... ;)

Lol, I do need to sort those cds out. I've got millions and those are just a small selection that are literally lying around. Similarly the bookcase is one of three in my room and I have stacks more books in storage. The problem is I'm still living in the Mess and so have limited space available atm. Once I get the house sorted I'll be able to square-away the mess/hi-fi layout. :)

New update on a new post seeing as I've moved house since last time :D

TV:
Sony Bravia KDL40W2000
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 via HDMI
Sound output from TV to Bi-AMP for that extra ompfh

Stereo:
Audiolab 8000CD
Audiolab 8000Q Pre Amp
Audiolab 8000P1
Audiolab 8000P2

Both amps being stereo, so bi-amping gives me 1 amp per high/low/channel

TV, Sky, PS3 and iPod running through Audiolab 8000Q :)
