Post your past or recent Chav Stories...

CHAV = Council House And Violent. I pity the chav. Most didn't get the best start to life. Younger Gen Y and Gen Z CHAVS, born to GenX chavs, only leave their consoles to buy weed and white cider and are pale with no fitness. Unlike their parents that were outside all the time due to not having the same tech as their children. I mean there is only so much you can do with a speccy right? They listen to that Drill Rap that makes the most badly produced Anarcho punk sound like it is an over produced orchestral masterpiece.

Gen X had it all. Punk, metal, Grunge, Black Metal, Grind/Death, Crust, new wave, Nu Metal, Acid and Rave...even Rap (when it was listenable). What do these disconnected individuals have. Crime and boasting on social media. Sad.

Much better to brag about your PC specs in your signature on a PC modding forum right? :p ;)
Most people put their specs in the sig so they don't have to constantly list them when encountering issues and asking for advice. 5800X offers huge improvements in Arma 3 multiplayer over my previous 3600 and that's about it. Nothing to boast about. Oh and a 5 years old 1080ti is just as good as my year old 5700XT

Anyone over 3 years old who cups their privy parts (especially inside their trousers) in a public place- that's the key identifier.
Oh is that not normal:p. I always found they seemed to drive either a nova or a saxo. I think they might have moved on to imprezas at some point when they became cheap.

I certainly do remember the Chavscum forum, and rather well actually. Here is a summary of that forums existence

it ran from 2003 till 2007, when the country all went chav ridiculing mad. The forum was primarily a place for people to vent their frustrations over the sub culture known as chavs. The forum was quite a fun place until the beginning of 2006 happened, when the Chavscum forum was moved onto another server, where for about half a year it was renamed Spazzmonkey.

Up until that point it was quite a fun place to be, for a start it attracted some of the funniest trolls there was, who created some of the funniest threads that got a rise out of people.
But when it became Spazzmonkey, that’s when it really became this crazy insane place. There were a group of people from a forum called Leelad, all of them got banned in 2004 or 2005 in a massive banning cull, but when Spazzmonkey came along, the forum owner and his wife both thought that it would be a really good idea to totally open the floodgates, by

A) Unbanning them all and letting them back on
B) Also making the forum be pretty much lawless with no rules

Now what do you think that resulted in?, yeah a total free for all amongst everybody. This created leeway for the Leelad brigade, people who had serious superiority and mafia complexes, to become the gatekeepers of the forum. They would go along the forum basically looking for any thread that had “chav” in the title, and gang flamed people who spoke of chavs in an unpositive way, calling these posters bigots and bitterly jealous people ect, whilst often mocking goths, emos, grungers and metalists themselves. So the forum just became one big massive school playground and prison yard.

After a while the forum owner finally came to his senses and realised that allowing them back on with no govermenting what so ever, was indeed a right asinine thing to do. He then implemented rules onto the forum, and as time went on issued a second banning cull. These Leelad people would constantly broadcast on their own forum about how they didnt care that they were banned from such a bigot breeding forum in proving this by constantly making threads about their bannings.

Ahh, a chav lorist and archivist. I did wonder what happened to that place but could never be arsed to check. So many funny photos on there. :)

Were you part of the chavscum forum yourself?

I see people in this thread talking about their tales of woe with chavs, and these posts are recent too, like only 2 or 3 years old. But the thing is tho, how do you identify a chav now?. Back in 2004-2006 ect you could spot them a mile away. They wore Burberry and wore much bling round their necks, but chavs have stopped wearing the burberry and bling now. How do you identify them now?, that they are simply teens with anti social attitudes and behaviours?

Hmm that's true, chavs have changed a lot and are now less of a sub culture and thus less identifiable until they open their mouths. I guess it depends where in the country they are from though, as in the poorest and most deprived areas of the UK I doubt much has changed.

I guess chavs must be getting better educated too, although the pandemic probably had a tragic (and I really mean that) effect on many that had to stay at homes to be further influenced by friends and uneducated parents.

One was a quite stereotypical 16-ish tall kid stopping short of headbutting me kinda from the side, but never touched me, and a few words. He was next to the door and I was miniwaiting for two other people at the door, one of whom I calmly said "go ahead" or something to. It was at like 8pm dark outside a...7-11. Yep, I just subverted y'all.

Just yesterday I walked out my office to see a builder running down a road yelling at someone. Turns out some scrote on an e-bike had nicked his phone and was making a dash for it, had I been three seconds earlier I could've splatted him against a parked car, gutted I missed it. We have quite a large council estate here nearby so we've always got crackheads and junkies and whatnot hanging around as well as a camp of do-as-you-likeys somewhere nearby who are also always out and about looking for anything that isn't bolted down, see them a few times a week.

A while back I went for a coffee and when I was walking back in to my building this young do-as-you-likey approached me with that old "we're doing a fun run" rubbish, anyone who's been anywhere touristy will know this scam. His older brother was stood behind him pretending to not be involved but was clearly some muscle in case someone decked him or whatever, so I looked at this kid with a massive grin on my face and said "fun run, in the middle of a pandemic? you sure about this?" his brother laughed at him and gave him the old "told you so" routine, for a split second I saw not a criminal, but a kid chancing his luck for a quick buck which I've also been guilty of as a wee kid, it removed the prickliness of the interaction straight away which was amusing really.

It's amazing how much trash we get here at Old Street roundabout.

Ahh crap, now I find out. I donated £5 to a "cause" a few months ago, it was a "Charity fighting knife crime", I told them I didn't have any cash and they pulled out a card reader connected to an iPhone and they insisted on a "tenner" stating that someone had given them £50 quid this very same day. It was near to Old Street Station.

You still living in Streatham? Or Streatham Hill rather, it more posh!

The chavscum forum ended in late 2007, a fair amount of the chavscum people and leelad people went and joined a forum called Random Banter. Random Banter tho mainly consisted of people from the Channel 4 forum, which came to an end itself around the same time. Random Banter was run by one of the ex channel 4 members. Random Banter ended in 2017 i think.

One of the leelad members called Brian Peppers, use to respond to anybody that tried to make a thread that made a point against chavs or about chavs, by simply responding with "define chav?", even though he had been on chavscum since the beginning. But when he did that, he was just trying to trap you into commiting to an argument that he knew he could win, so cunning rhetoric there. Because yeah, its impossible to make an essay about what defines a chav, without anybody being able to pick any holes in it, because what defines a chav is not based on objective facts, its based on commonly accepted opinion, and anything based on an opinion can always be disagreed with.

I mean if you tried it, by starting it off with

Chavs usually dress in trackies and sports clothes, he would respond with Oh, so anyone who wears sports clothes is a chav then?, what about all those people that go to sport centres wearing sports clothes, oh i guess their chavs too. And if your next bullet point was Chavs tend to be poorly spoken, and tend to sound thick when they talk , he would respond with Maybe their a normal person who just so happens to have speech difficulties, or maybe they have some sort of handicap. You're begining to sound like an extreme right wing bigot now.

But he wasnt clever doing that, the same could be done with, if you tried to define goth, for example. Goths dress entirely in black clothing, where the response could be , ah right, i guess Johnny Cash is a goth then, cause he wears all black.

Ok thanks, I think I definitely know enough now.

I worked part time in a small shop and a bunch of know chavs where buying alcohol, They where telling me how they where going to get so drunk and pee themselves lol.

I think they thought I was impressed!!

Chavs...it is an interesting topic. when i was a teenager they were the scum of the earth, now i am 30, moved away from greater Manchester to leafy Cheshire, they have all but gone in my life.

But now I do rub shoulders with travellers who do not travel, a new challenge in my life

Nice place Putney from what I've heard and read.

I moved out of Streatham Hill in September 2019. Miss the pubs and restaurants in the area especially Hideaway Comedy club.

Living in Orpington now but a quieter part of it. Close to a train station but no close pubs, bars or restaurants. Loads of chavs though.

Nothing amusing my end unfortunately but they seem to fall into two catagories in my area they see a large guy in a suit it's either trying to prove something to their mates and try to initiate a fight or asking for money as "clearly I can afford it wearing a suit".

Some of them have rather attractive girlfriends I feel bad for them lol.
Yes that is the problem that most of them do infact have rather attractive girlfriends, it's really sad that they are attracted to such scrag-ends.
