Does anybody else only get letter mail (not tracked parcels) just the once a week now anyway?

If they change to 3 day delivery then they will have to change the notion of 1st Class aiming to be 1 day and 2nd class 2-3 day.

Lol, I thought exactly the same when I read that. "Oh we're getting a postal service upgrade?"

It's been utterly dire these last 6-7 months. 3 weeks was the longest we went without post.

When the postie arrived finally we had a quick chat and a catch up, apparently the sorting office has letters and parcels piled high with nobody to deliver them. Staff are off on long term sick or have quit, and the centre managers won't hire agency staff to help with deliveries.

The posties that are there have longer rounds to deliver, and to keep their pay paced with inflation they have to supplement their postal deliveries with junk mail circulars (that they have to pack themselves along with the post drops).

They can keep the junk mail, most pointless waste of paper ever! Goes straight in the bin.
Mail comes daily here, rural location.

I'd rather a 3 day reliable service than a 6 day unreliable one.

Still. Royal mail have been by far the best for delivery of letters and parcels. Unlike DPD or Doesn'tPayoutDamages!

Postman delivers more spam than actual mail, so cant say i am bothered tbh

on the odd occation i do want something, i pay extra for special delivery, usualy saturday post. Which i assume they would not get rid of saturday specials.

I think i get maybe 2-3 letters the entire year that i actually wanted, council tax, yearly mortgage statement etc, everything else i opt to recieve via email.

The govt saying its sacrosanct, expect 3 day service soon then. Not that it matters really. Did find it amusing on the news when a women moaned she had to receive her NHS appointment letters via email rather than post, well yes and why not? Its far quicker, easier and simpler. Its not the 1900s anymore people.

See the postman most days (if I'm outside will have a chinwag with him too) although we get very little actual post, mainly flyers (Dominoes I'm looking at you) and charity bags

What I find odd is that Royal Mail are saying they need to modernise by reducing to 3 of 7 days, when other services and suppliers are increasing to 7 day, and in some cases same day.

Seems that Royal Mail are institutionally broken if they need to go back to the level of service that could be offered by horseback in order to "modernise".

I cannot imagine why anyone with access to email wouldn't want this by email.

An important email from a multi year waiting list saying you've got your long awaited scan with the risk of being lost in the post? No thanks!
