TFT review was surprisingly better than i expected given the track record ive seen posted about Acer. Looks a very nice monitor, but very expensive
Hey guys, i Talked to german acer support and they said to me that they work on firmware update but i cant update it myself. I need to register it for repair if i wish. But i think that will be faster than the worldwide release happens.
as soon as i know, i will post info here
If the unit cannot be firmware updated / flashed by the end user then with the 2 Years On Site Warranty that you get with it will this mean sending engineers out to customers houses to perform? Expensive!
Might be jumping the gun a bit here, should really see what Acer come back with their official announcement.
I wouldn't take it as gospel since it's more than possible that customer support aren't 100% on it, but I'd like to hear how that compares to what they're saying to TFTCentral.
Acer have already fixed this, Badass also has confirmed to me they fixed it with a firmware update and all UK stock will have this update pre-applied from factory.
looking good so will ocuk have these on the 25th ?
Quoting Gibbo from the ROG thread (but regarding this monitor)
Just gotta wait to see if there's any chance of a self fix, if not I'll put money down for one.

More often than not, "onsite warranty" on monitors just means they courier you a replacement and pick up the faulty one, they never send an actual engineer to your house
