Good price if you compare it to vista at launch. But not if you compare it to the price of home premium. Way to much money. But there will be people out there who will buy it.

Aaah, XP 64bit... brings back bad memories! Stuck with it though until Vista came out.
Would now be a good time to compare that Just £189.99 Inc. VAT with the $29 that the new Mac OS will cost?

Why so much negativity over the price of an OS.
Adobe Photoshop probably costs as much and IMO an OS does far more things than a paint program.

I've already pre-ordered professional (for less than 1/2 the price of ultimate) - I just don't need the extra bits on ultimate.
Relieved it doesn't come with IE and the fact it has to do a fresh/clean install!

Pro is good enough for me. Can't join a domain with premium.
I do think though that people need to get out of the mindset that software should cost trivial amounts of money when you would happily spend 200 on just a gfx card. The OS is the core of your computer.

It's not, it's called Windows 7 E for Europe because it doesn't have Internet Explorer.
