*****PRE-ORDER: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate E*****

Good price if you compare it to vista at launch. But not if you compare it to the price of home premium. Way to much money. But there will be people out there who will buy it.

Far too expensive. Add to that the fact that Windows XP is a better Operating System and has been since it was released... well, you do the maths.

:confused: lol? XP doesnt even have a properly usable 64bit version...

I used Vista on my laptop, and it was awful, XP is much better. Not upgrading again, I usually live by the simple philosophy of if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Why would anyone buy windows 7?

Aaah, XP 64bit... brings back bad memories! Stuck with it though until Vista came out.

Would now be a good time to compare that Just £189.99 Inc. VAT with the $29 that the new Mac OS will cost?

</walks out after starting war>

</admits that he has both Mac and PC anways so result of war is pointless>

I've already pre-ordered professional (for less than 1/2 the price of ultimate) - I just don't need the extra bits on ultimate.

Relieved it doesn't come with IE and the fact it has to do a fresh/clean install!

Pro is good enough for me. Can't join a domain with premium.

I do think though that people need to get out of the mindset that software should cost trivial amounts of money when you would happily spend 200 on just a gfx card. The OS is the core of your computer.

Oh FFS, go on you were one of those blokes slating XP even after it had been out two years and swearing you would never move from Windows 98! Go on admit it.
