I got professional for under £80 on pre-order it suits me fine, just can't warrant £100 more for a couple of extra features which I'll never use.
Toys, pram, you get the picture.I can't see why Microsoft couldn't put a tab where you could download IE and alternative browsers.

because it just doesnt work? only thing that does work is your standard windows stuff like IE, WMP etc. Games, nothing works at all, so i have to boot up to WinXP.![]()
Thanks, European Union scumbags
What a waste of ****ing time.
The more I think about it, the more irritated I get. Some poor fools with no other machines are going to get screwed over. Theres just no logic, no reason to it. You need a browser to get a different browser in the first place. Does anyone in the European Commision even understand how a computer works? Remember the laughable edition they forced Microsoft to make without Windows Media Player? It had 1,787 sales.
how much

wow £200 that's too much for me.
they are going to give you a choice of browsers at the install stage, so it wont be a problem,

But how long will that take to reach agreement? The article states that Microsoft will keep shipping the E versions until they get permission which means that they don't expect an answer before October so the pre order stuff will come without.
It was actually becuase including ie & wmp meant that microsoft was creating and allowing an internet browser and media player monopoly. The people who know what a web browser is go and get their favourite browser, the people who know what media player they like get that as well. The 'joe public' user sticks with ie and wmp as they don't consider there could be something else.Reason they did it was because of privacy issues. The EU doesn't like how IE always relay information back to Microsoft and to avoid getting hassled, they decided to take it away all together.
I don't really care about IE, I personally prefer Opera, I find them to be very clean and less resource hogging.
