That mentions response time which is an altogether different thing (still fairly important mind).

Interesting, a quick Google seems to say that human reaction times are many times slower then 30ms. Short of being superhuman or not human at all I don't see where this 30ms will make any difference. In my experience of skill based sports/hobbies the equipment was far outweighed by the skill of the person. Of course the less skilled always looked for their weaknesses in their equipment rather than their technique...

It's not about reaction time, it's about feeling your movements of the mouse are in sync with the screen, if they're not it feels very odd. Go read reviews, many say the same things I am about this screen.

Anyway I can't use technology as an excuse if I do badly as I still use a CRT. :p

OMG Overclocker's what are you doing to me my wallet can't take it, really want a bigger monitor for BF3 but i'll have to go Sli if I buy this :D

He'll that I'd tempting. Had been looking at a Hazro but to get a Dell at that price is bloody good. I guess if it's gonna go wrong, it's gonna go wrong early doors so a 12 month warranty should cover most eventualities.
I have been using a 2001fp for many years now and apart for a bit of backlight bleed, it has never even lost a single pixel. I confess I have considered a 120hz monitor too for nice fast framerates but I could live with this much visual real estate.

Two questions, how many of these are you getting, don't want to miss the boat if I do go for one. And are they fluoro tube backlit or led and would I really notice the difference?

Grabbed this from tftcentral, yeah its fluoro (CCFL bit)

Panel: 27"WS LG.Display H-IPS (LM270WQ2)
LGD H-IPS LM270WQ2-SLA1 2560x1440 5ms G2G 1000:1 380cdm 178/178 1.07b (8-bit+A-FRC) 102% 97.1% 100.0% 8x CCFL

Very tempting but I think im going to stick it out for a while longer with my current monitor. I dream of a 120hz ips monitor :P

You can always get a 3 year warranty or even 5 year warranty for any type of electrical component via Amazon.

Which even covers you for Accidental damage as well as mechanical failure, quite good if you have a motherboard and snap the pins off the motherboard lol.

A few examples:

Click >> SquareTrade 3-Year Warranty Plus Accident Protection (£600-700 Items) £68.99

Click >> SquareTrade 3-Year Warranty Plus Accident Protection (£450-500 Items) £48.99

So you could buy one of the Dell U2711 from OcUK and purchase additional cover thats better than Dell's because it covers you for accidental damage as well as 3 years. :)

It would probally be cheaper to claim through your home insurance (£50 Excess?) if your covered for accidental damage but yeah the option is still there.

Excellent find there!

So even with that added from Amazon, were still what, nearly £100 cheaper than anywhere else, still epic bargain me thinks. :)

+1 Great find.
Now will someone please take my credit card off me before I order one. You can give me my card back when OcUK do a similar deal on the 30" monitors :D

it says - Warranty: 1 Year Return to base (Premium Panel Guarantee) so I guess they will replace it as the "Premium Panel Guarantee" means 0 dead pixels guarantee
