Pre-season Football 2011/2012 Season

Obertan did quite well for his goal (though I'm sure he was pretty lucky to get past the defender) but the number of times he just mucked up was amazing, one of thos crosses he actually runs into the defender and the ball just bounces off him back into Obertans path. Later on in the game he mis-controlled a ball, then smacked it far too far ahead of him then dived to win a freekick!

Looking forward to seeing Gervinho!

Someone needs to pickup Podolski, that's twice he has just ran through on a simple run with nobody tracking him.
FYI for any Arsenal fans who don't have ESPN, it's also on Arsenal Player.

Spurs winning 1 - 0 in South Africa against Orlando Pirates in the Vodacom Challenge final.

Goal was almost identical to that the other day, VdV slotting in from a free kick just outside the penalty area.

Liverpool vs Hull is about to kick-off in 10 minutes. Doni's making his debut in goal with both Henderson and Downing on the bench.

Gervinho seems to be getting in the right places but, I'm not massively impressed with either finish, promising movement but really very easy finishes. Wilshire making both goals, with the great pass behind for the first and knowing where Walcott was and a great pass to get it too him.

Problem is, with RVP playing will Gervinho start, maybe, on the left wing maybe, in which case, why are we killing ourselves trying to keep Nasri who would normally start on the left.

Wilshire playing the Cesc role more at the moment, much more advanced than all last season and he's playing incredibly well. As you said, defending has been suspect though for us, woeful picking up, Song a couple times failing epically to mark the run while the right back marks the guy with the ball, and Kos/Verm not being on the same page several times letting Podolski right past them.
