Of course not ! Its immediately after scoring a few goals in preseason friendlies that everyone should get hugely excited about their players. Its proof of the players quality, like the 5 goals Ryan Babel scored in preseason that year. Clear proof :p

Gervinho off after 30 mins :(

Yet again our defence has been rubbish. We seriously need a LB and a replacement for song before the season starts!

wow, thats not hugely exciting, 30mins only for Gervinho? how ruddy unfit is he, might be one of Wengers weird/stupid friendlies where he brings people back on after they've gone off.

As I said, I didn't criticise him, his movement is very promising, he was in the right place to get both goals, but the goals themselves I'd expect just about any premier league player(well, not Robbie Keane :p ) to score without any real aggro so I'm simply not saying its the two best goals ever, good movement, average goals.

The main worry is, another good finisher is all well and good, but if we play him on the wing, we need a good winger, not a finisher, thats where Arsenal have lacked so severely of late, wingers who don't get into games, especially the harder games.

Wilshire has looked pretty epic so far, great passing, great run, winning the ball, that same ability Cesc has to know where people are, to play into space, to hold the ball in tight spaces and generally keep posession or use it effectively. This is whats ridiculous, Song sucked so badly at DM Wilshire played deep last year when really he's always been a VERy attacking player, now he's further forwards, and Song is back being a rubbish DM, why on earth is Song on the pitch, seriously. If he was so great defensively, why does our most promising attacking player in a decade...... end up doing his job for him.

The guys you are playing against are seriously budget so thats a bit of a worry.

Jesus, again another attack, theres is never any cohesion in the back four, sure one/two wingers go forward, the two CB's should be in a line, not very far apart and moving together yet they attacked, our CB's were MILES apart, no where near in line, Gibbs no where to be seen and our right back doing ok.

I'm not sure how much is the players, how much is the rubbish system, and Song never, ever seems to know who to mark, he runs around like a headless chicken rather than making the dangerous space the ball will be going into.

Followed by another awful awful pass by Walcott, most surprising thing about the game was Walcott getting the ball to Gervinho's feet tbh.

EDIT:- I really have no clue why anyone thinks Gibbs can step up, he's been horrible before this season defensively, and today he's been woeful, absolutely awful defensively, he's pretty much another Johnson, always out of position, always leaving massive space behind him, constantly making mistakes, a bit fast and gets forward a lot, but I don't think he's had much stuff going forwards.

Also, hilarious goal for them, hahaha.

That was an amazing own goal. I've never seen anything like it!

Only Arsenal could manage that, bottling it even in friendlies :p

Hmm, was it Lauren who picked up the ball, ran at our goal then put in a perfect Henry style passing shot just pass our keeper into the corner? I think that was the best Arsenal own goal ever just because it felt like Lauren was trying to be a striker, that one just now was pretty epic though, so far out and ridiculous.

Most ridicuous thing I've seen today was that Cologne chance where Chesney got completely bamboozled by spin off the turf, at first glance it looked a horrendous fumble but when you see the replay from behind the goal it ripped off at like a 45 degree angle!
 
That really is an epic goal, seriously its just the manner, the fact that he ran at the goal so hard, held off the attacker/defender and looked like he aimed for the corner.

EDIT:- only just saw the replay for that Hangtime, that is a seriously strange bounce, and good reactions.

Spurs winning 2 - 0 as well now. Another VDV goal. Took a shot from an Ekotto pass, saved, lifted rebound over the keeper.
