Predators (3) is definately happening...

Saw this last friday, I quite enjoyed it as frankly I was expecting it to be crap so it exceeded my expectations (in a good way). It felt like a 'true' sequel to the first movie, and I loved Laurence Fishburne's character :D

Saw this last nite. Imo it's not garbage as people say I thought it was still pretty good but it lacked that "suspence" that predator 1 and even 2 had.

The whole alien dogs thing was a bit stupid, would have been better if there was more sneaking around, hiding etc. And when the woman says that arnie used mud to camo himself why didn't they all do that? But anyway, overall it was pretty good, it would never be better then 1 or 2. But I thought it was good. I couldn't help but feel it was a bit like a predators tv series though lol.

I actually enjoyed it as well - but so much of it just felt like watching Predator again.

I liked the main guy and the few little twists there were, a pretty watchable and enjoyable romp.

Girlfriend really didn't enjoy it as she's a big series fan and her issue was much the same - it was just Predator, again - i.e. a bit needless in some senses - and they duplicated so much from the original film it just seemed unoriginal somehow.

I wasn't a fan of the 'dogs' :(

Anyone see the Russian guy and think "VE MAKE GOOD TEAM?" :D

I thought it was average. Laurence Fishburne seemed wasted and his character was unecessary, the CGI predator pets/dogs were awful and didn't fit in with how the preds normally stalk and the whole 2 types of predator thing felt contrived to allow for some pred on pred action.

I rather enjoyed it ...... doesn't bring much new ideas to the table but way better than the AvP films.

The predator dogs are a neat idea though as I see this breakaway group of predators more savage and less honorable than the predator in the arnie version. (ie. think of them as chavs with dogs)

Predator 2 < Predator?

You must be having some sort of lolz there surely? Pred 2 is good but it is NO Predator :)

There was no lose end on Predator 2. Predator comes down to hunt humans as part of its right of passage. It gets chased down/owned by Danny Glover. Predators are impressed by Glover and give him an old pistol.

Indication is that they have been using Earth as a hunting ground for many years and have a respect for humans as a species/warriors when they prove themselves.

This is hinted at in the AvP films although done very poorly.

Looking forward to the new film, good ratings on IMDB already but that might change. Although I might have to wait an extra week or two to see it as I'm seeing Inception this Friday :)

I must be in a minority then as i liked predator 2 the best.:D

Despite being a fan of the Predator and Alien films I hadn't seen Predators, by chance I discovered this was on ITV(4?) last night at 2300 just before it started, so I stayed up to watch it (good chance it will be repeated, recently seeing lots of films getting repeats on Freeview over the space of a few weeks).

It was ok, bit weak considering the film was on a new planet and yet had some similarities to the orignal, even the Predator pets only got a bit of scene time. Was surprised Fishbourne's character was pretty minor and how his scenes played out, given the character's history. Odd ending, guess they hoped to do a sequel.

I preferred the original, which was Freeview recently.

Knew there was Prey I still needed to watch from 2022, but just discovered there was also The Predator from 2018!

Holy thread revival batman!

I didn't mind Prey 'for what it was' for a one time short prequel homage. The last predator though was shocking whichever one that was, IIRC the 2018 one!

I haven't seen that 2018 one.
Its called "the predator".. That's probably why. Would have thought it was the first one!

Original is great. Prey was OK.
Others are gash.

Save yourself rhe bother and forget it was ever made, not only the worst predator film ever made but probably one of the worst action films.

Shane Black should never be allowed near a movie again.

The thing there is that he's been a great writer/director in the past (see Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang etc) so with his attachment to the the Original film you would imagine he'd want to protect the franchise and improve it yet he seems to have dropped off a cliff with that abysmal attempt at "The Predator".

I mean I genuinely heard people groan outloud at the god-awful Dad joke of "Get to the Choppers" and then chopper-style motorbikes being shown, it's was just (to borrow a modern term) so Cringe!

Yeah, both Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys are genuinely good movies - however he made one of the worst MCU films as well. His style of humour and obligatory child characters just don't fit for a Predator style movie unfortunately, he should really stay in his lane.

We also had an audible groan at some of the humour, I went to the cinema with my best mate who's favourite film is Predator so you can imagine his frustration. I think I laughed more at his reactions than the 'comedy' in the movie.
