Predators (3) is definately happening...

I'm properly miffed - Robert Rodriguez if you're a real fan you'd hang your head in shame!

Minigun thrown in as a "well the original had one!" crap idea that hits no-one, has no ammo pack being carried unlike the original and is a typical wasted "hollywood" idea
Adrien Brody - If I talk all gravelly it makes me sound Hard! Nonce!
Sniper Rifle with a digital scope that survives a 50m tumbling fall over ground, a seperate 100m into water and doesn't lose it's zero!
Topher Grace, not even got the courtesy to try and make the surprise bad guy an actual SURPRISE!
Fishburne - Comedy dude, pure comedy (whether intentional or not)
Danny Trejo - wasted talent :(
3 New "Super-Predators" who are harder than the original predator, all killed by single humans without using firearms!
Seriously Shoddy CGI (spetsnaz explosion)
Terrible acting by the vast majority of the cast (not a believeable one amongst them)
Too many "homages" that ended up as direct rip-offs from the original, so much so that you could guess exactly what was going to happen next (yakuza in the field).

I could go on but it's making me angry that I get so excited by the prospect of a good director taking the reigns and promising to dismiss the errors of AVP and when it finally arrives it's sodding PAP!
 
Well...I really enjoyed it but didn't go in with massive expectations. Can see why a lot of folks are annoyed and letdown but for me the only two things that annoyed me were the CGI on the big explosion with the russian guy and...SPOILER...


on the trailer Royce gets something like 10 targetting scopes on him, only one in the actual movie.

I am a massive Predator fan and own the box set so yes I know the original well?
I cant understand your reference?

The tune in the end credits of Predator is just its main theme. Very suspense like and punchy.
The tune in Predators is like something you'd hear in a mid 19th century american diner! ???!?

The tune over the credits was the same one used in the original in the helicopter as they are flown into the jungle ;)
 
Predators

Well, saw this today.

Quite enjoyed it, really enjoyed the voice of Royc :D

Really enjoyed the music / atmosphere created at times.

Also, nice to see Morphus :)
 
Went to see it tonight, knowing the audience in the local cinema, when they all jump up the spilt second the credits roll.. it's an average spell.

Thats it for me realy, it is no worse than what many consider the best, the original.

Swap arnie, the one liners in to preditors, it'd make it the above average film the first one was.

I feel they could have done more with the survivor element, maybe a group, and a good ole fightback. And lastly, i reckon they droped too easy, certainly with the yakuzza guy.

Poor Billy never had a chance:)
 
The tune at the end is obviously a homage to the first movie, which used the track in the helicopter before they were dropped into the forest.
Everyone in the cinema I was in started laughing when the track came on as most people seemed to recognise it. I thought it was cool/ funny.
 
I rather enjoyed it, it's not pretending to be a deep film but the acting was rather good despite that. CG was really good too.

Did the pred that allied with Royce & co have a personal shield during his fight with the super predator? I noticed that he shimmered whenever he took a hit or got knocked around. I thought it might of been the camo malfunctioning but he lasted for quite a while despite (probably) being malnourished and completely outmatched.

Predator 2 < Predator?

You must be having some sort of lolz there surely? Pred 2 is good but it is NO Predator :)

There was no lose end on Predator 2. Predator comes down to hunt humans as part of its right of passage. It gets chased down/owned by Danny Glover. Predators are impressed by Glover and give him an old pistol.

Indication is that they have been using Earth as a hunting ground for many years and have a respect for humans as a species/warriors when they prove themselves.

This is hinted at in the AvP films although done very poorly.

Looking forward to the new film, good ratings on IMDB already but that might change. Although I might have to wait an extra week or two to see it as I'm seeing Inception this Friday :)
