Big sam is what southampton needed :D
Not sure he'd be interested in all honesty. We're adrift and just threw away our easy run of games - he's only interested if there's a realistic chance he could save the day.

Marsch is an appointment preparing for a Championship campaign.

I don’t understand how they think this guy will turn around their season. Baffling.
I don't think they expect him to turn it around and save the day.

Who is out there, available, that Southampton could afford, is good enough to turn around the absolute mess the club is in and would risk the relegation on their CV? It's a short list.

He did last season with Leeds to be fair.
True, but they were in better shape from what I recall. Southampton appear to be running on fumes these last few seasons barring 19/20.
But maybe that’s just about right, I’ve not paid them any great attention!

Apparently, Nuno has interviewed for the role at Leeds. I would happily take him; I first said until the end of the season, but if he keeps us up, I will happily have him stay for longer. He always had good shape at Wolves, was defensive-minded and not the most attractive football, but effective. I'll even take 5 at the back and counter-attacking football at this point to get some points in the next few games.

I used to think Nuno was pretty good but he went really flat at Wolves and then failed pretty quickly at Spurs (but it is Spurs).

Could do a lot worse though...

Yeah, he seemed to have taken them as far as he could, smashed the Championship, finished 7th in their first season then lost Jimenez and finished 13th. Jose/Nuno and now Conte just seemed to play the same turgid football at Spurs.

Talks between Southampton and Jesse Marsch have broken down. Club not keen on a long-term contract given current situation. Ruben Selles to take Chelsea game and club still see him as a viable longer-term option, potentially with a more experienced coach.
I think I'm happy about that...

Javi Garcia fave to be to the next Leeds boss. Very underwhelming but not sure who would take the role right now. He did well at Watford then got sacked which happens there. Who knows what to expect.

Gracia!

That is underwhelming, he never seemed very good. What about Rafa Benitez? I think he could be your best chance.

To be fair to Potter I think he needs a bit of time to get his methods across, especially considering all the recent changes in playing staff at Chelsea. If you look at his history he's very much a manager you'd appoint because you believe in their philosophy and want to build for the long term (like Howe). If they wanted a stable hand to steady the ship after Tuchel left he was probably the wrong choice.
