Yeah great ride that to split it up and then attack and pace his climb to perfection. Cracking first 20k today, jumbo properly on the back foot. Hope it's this entertaining to next week.

Who'd have thought the final big descent could be the deciding factor in this. Vingegaard almost has a huge accident and then Pog overshoots and has a little off. Vingegaard proper professional sportsman sitting up and waiting and then almost crashing, be interesting to see if the favour is repaid and they both just ease up for the rest of the day.

Only managed to see Pog come off whilst working away but watched some highlights, actually quite emotional watching Jonas easing up for Pog. Couple of legends IMO.

I love how aggressive Pog rides with punchy attacks.

Yeah, very sporting and a great advert for the sport. Tbf, it wasn't really a big sacrifice for Vingegaard, so why not. It's nice to see they seem to get on.

Really please for Thomas too. Almost couldn't believe my eyes when he had his brief attack

Waiting up was the sensible move too as it was one in the bag and then went into a stalemate with both easing off and taking much less risk on the descent.

Am going to try to watch today’s stage in person as it‘s only 30 minutes drive away.

Make sure you stand about a metre into the road as they are all coming past. Extra points for sticking your arms out to take a photo and then taking out some riders as you wheel back round to take your next pic!

Lol at the above.

Can anyone explain jasper stuyven this tour. Pulling tadej along the cobbles despite the gap being unassailable and then leading out laporte today. Is he after a new contract?

Not sure if anyone has been watching European, but it's very confusing with the dutch in white, does anyone know why? Vuelta starting on Friday, generally my favourite GC as it's usually much more calamitous (despite Roglic winning the last 3)

Vuelta starts today with TTT. Hopefully be an entertaining race without Roglic on top!

Seen Bigham finally broke campaenarts record earlier today. Beast of a ride, especially after his crashes at commonwealth. And finally Tom pidcock goes for the European mtb xco at 4pm which should give a good indication of if he can get 2 of the big 3 world titles next week at les gets!

Pure domination from Pidcock. Good signs in advance of next week. Thought he got caught up in the first corner crash. Could be an issue with his lack of racing and being gridded so far down.

A completely unexpected day yesterday with Remco going into Red, I still think he'll struggle when it comes to the high high mountains, reckon this could be Mas' best chance to win a GT as we know he can live with the best. Ayuso looking strong as well, once again will see if he can do it for the 3 weeks!

Remco doesnt even look like hes working that hard. Apart from the last few kms to the summit finish yesterday where he looked like he was feeling it, hes been riding like hes not even breathing heavily even on the really steep ramps. Do wonder what he will be like in week 3 as hes only ever ridden one GT before this race

Been feeling sorry for Fred Wright, been putting in some serious work in the break but not getting the results just like in the TdF

Yeah I thought the same. Looked like yesterdays effort had taken something out of him in the last couple of k. But looking strong! As you say be interesting to see how he goes in the last week and at the real high mountains Where he's struggled in the past.

Do feel for Fred Wright but he's not ridden with his brain in those 2 days when he was in the break. Hopefully he'll finish one off!

Sivakov and Yates are out of the Vuelta with Covid, both had really good TTs yesterday and were in the top 10, such a shame. Its going to be even worse for Bike Exchange as Yates wont be getting any points for finishing in the top 10 and they need all the points they can get as they are close to the relegation zone

Yep, covid needs to do one for events now! Relegation zone is being killed by Covid.

Alaphillippe crash will be a big loss for Remco, still interesting to see how he goes at the weekend, but he's looking super strong, can see Mas giving Roglic a good workout in the mountains, but think he'll do as he's done in the past and settle for a podium especially with Movistars position in the table! Hoping Rodriguez can move up to the podium as I've got a bet on Ineos getting someone on the podium in each grand tour this year!

Is this his one bad day or will this be the beginning of the end? Another great win for Carapaz, signing out from ineos in style and slowly moving up gc.

Very interesting stage. Tbf, he only lost about 48 seconds. He can allow that twice more and still be in red. How much was he just being sensible and how many more times can Roglic do what he did today...?
