Tony Martin said:
with 5km remaining everybody was looking round and not pulling so I went for it

The other day Cav was fretting about having to sprint from under 500m out, today Martin is wondering what everyone is doing 5000m out. Amazing strength to get away from that distance and make it on his own.

It were amazing to see how far ahead he got, you could see his legs starting to flag towards the end, he kept looking behind him to check he didnt have to push any harder.

He looked properly chuffed with himself on the podium though and rightly so!

Apparently Martin was on Trentin's bike when he won, while Pinot was having a paddy because he'd been offered one of his team-mate's bikes!

So good to see Martin in yellow.

It's more that no one organised a chase properly rather than he made it from x distance. When Cav is "fretting" about sprinting from 500m he's a) going much quicker and b) has to beat the other sprinters.

Yes, yes, and I'm not suggesting that Martin is suddenly going to challenge as a sprinter. It's a different skillset. The point is that only someone who can TT like Tony Martin would decide to do what is essentially a slow sprint from 5k out. Anyone else doing it wouldn't get 100m before getting picked up again.

Another good stage today, happy to see Martin in Yellow, one of the best blokes in the peloton! Think that puts to rest everyones ideas on Froomes weakness on the cobbles! :D

Going to be a quiet few days compared to the whirlwind we've had so far!

I've just watched the highlights. Well done to Froome for staying upright and staying in the thick of it, well done to Thomas for keeping him up there, well done to Martin for going off like a rocket several kilometres out and opening a huge gap and a bonus well done to Martin for wearing a proper cycling cap at the finish.

Dear god the ITV commentary is atrocious. Just suffered through the last two stages highlights but I won't endure phil and Paul again

Loved the Panzerwagen getting rewards for so much work he does for others. Had a couple of quid on him @ 41-1 too :) Impressive from Bouhanni to get over the cobbles and get 5th

Peter Sagan. I hope for some more comedy performances

Here's one from the intermediate sprint today:
"We've got a gap, let's go!?" :D

Sagan was quite impressive again today. Did a lot of work for Contador and still managed 3rd in the sprint.

Anyone got a tip for todays (likely) sprint? I reckon Cav will win with Bouhanni second, Sagan third. Greipel blows too hot and cold for me and Bouhanni and Sagan rode brilliantly yesterday.
