Sounds very odd?
Ahh even though I've requested a RMA I still can't decide what to do. Put the 3570 back in afterwards and it really does struggle with two 670s. It's not a case of the fps just slowing down but the system actually lags/stutters when it hits 30fps which I really can't be doing with.
I don't want to get rid of the 2nd 670 as I will end up with a larger monitor (+resolution) at some point in the future so it will be beneficial. I've got 14 days, i'll see how I get on running it for that bit longer and then hopefully make a decision.
Doesn't help that the 3770k is a better clocker than my 3570 either.
Anyway sorry for taking over the thread but thank you for the advise everyone!

Cheers guys, i'm leaning towards keeping it as well if i'm honest.
It's currently at 4.7GHz at 1.27v, 2200mhz memory, load temps are max 73 degrees which I can cope with. Might still be able to lower the core voltage down, needs further tweaking. Runs at 4.8GHz at 1.285v but temps start to push into low 80s which 24/7 i'm not too happy with especially as it's on load pretty much all the time while running seti or gaming.
and you are still in the low 80s?
Yeah the i5 is at stock speeds as I've never really felt the need to clock it.
I'd actually prefer to stick with the 2500K or maybe swap it for a 2600K as I'm wary of the temp issue with the Ivy Bridge chips.
Just picked up an i7 2600K off the MM. Fairly cheap upgrade from my i5 and will keep me going until Ivy's replacement I think, at which point I'll do a whole new CPU/mobo swap-out![]()
