Ok, so I'm 115mins into the 2 hour window, aaaaaaaand?
It's a funny one... In pure FFB terms, it does some things better than AC, and it doesn't do certain things as well.
I guess the best way to put it is that it's just different.
Is it generally decent after a bit of tweaking? Yes.
Am I keeping it? Yes.
There are annoying things like no TC steps. It's either on or off in the race cars I tried that should have up to 12 steps of adjustment. Same with ABS options. This is reflected in the menu, where you can only assign one button for either, instead of +/-.
I was also getting weird glitches in VR, where it randomly acts like my tracking is messed up (it isn't).
Oh, and my mouse cursor isn't showing in VR, making the VR menu pretty pointless.
Some cars have way too much grip in the wet (Oreca LMP2), some feel pretty good in the changing conditions (Merc 190EVO).
Ultimately, all I really wanted was the time of day and weather options from PC1 with decent enough handling and FFB. This provides that once you've got your wheel set up reasonably well.
Will it replace AC for me? No. That will remain my go to sim. PC2 is there to fill in the gaps that AC can't. I just hope the novelty doesn't get old too quickly.
Where PC2 shines in comparison is day/night/weather and changing conditions when you're in one of the better sorted cars.
If anyone is using a T300/TX wheel, I'd highly recommend consulting
this spreadsheet (perhaps also consult
this vid if you can stand the voice) and using the custom FFB setting with the text file provided. Look at the 'car specific FFB configuration tab' for baseline settings and just set your FFB volume on the fly with any given car and you should be good to go.
I tried all raw/immersive etc and the custom option was the best one with that config file.
