Project Cars 2 is en route :D

Still no VR for me yet, it`s all set up and menus work ect, but when it comes to getting in the car its all black screen apart from the hud boxes. I tried switching the camera view to see if that makes a difference, that just helped me get a 1 inch box of the rear view displayed amongst the darkness. What am I doing wrong or missed?

Have you done a file check, if you do that and it still doesn't work I'd go to projectcarsgame forum and report it as a bug...

I think the traction control settings are reversed... I found when I reduced the TC settings to 0.2 it wouldn't let me accelerate in the dry, but up at 0.9 TC was virtually off, this was adjusting through the ICM...try going the other way with it, sounds weird but it might work better...

They do appear to be reversed. Use the in car management system to adjust it. The higher the number. The lower the traction control force.

You can also switch it completely off - go to vehicle settings. And assign a button to the traction control toggle / option.

Been keeping an eye on this game, I'm after a decent racing game for PC and was going to buy PC1, but held off after hearing this was on the way.

How does it play with a game pad though? I like my games authentic, but I really cant be bothered with buying a wheel for one game that I might not get to play that often. I used to manage fine with my Xbox pad in the Forza games, and I now have the pad plugged into the PC. But I understand PC1 was rubbish with a pad. PC2 any better in that regard?

Well finally sussed why I got black screen in VR except the hud. I had to disable triple screen support, but I never needed to do this anywhere else in other titles. also put into windowed mode and dropped it to the lowest resolution and Hz. First thoughts, VR with 1.5 SS and tray tool set to 1.5 with a 1080ti seems smooth.

yea been improved a lot.. but still crap compared to wheel!

Might give it a shot. Thing is, I bought a wheel yeeeeaars ago, thinking I would really get into racing games. But I never did, I think part of it was the hassle of having to set it up each time I wanted to play. Obviously not a problem if you're into racing sims and have a decent dedicated setup, but for a more casual player like me, not ideal.

Installing now, old PCars is one of my favourite VR titles so hopefully this is as good :D

O the whole I'd say yes but the cars are a mixed bag tbh...some are amazing, others are pap...online multiplayer racing is currently borked (once you've left your session you can't get back on) with a patch en route to fix it Monday at the earliest...

may help with controller!

Thanks Westie, but I've just had an absolute touch. Speaking to my dad earlier, apparently he still had my old wheel at his place, been up in the loft since I moved around. Just nipped over and retrieved it, still in the box...hopefully it all still works, it's a Logitech MOMO FFB wheel. Gonna try setting it up, would be a touch if it's still working, I wasn't keen on buying a new wheel for one game.

Thanks for pointing me to that Oculus Tray Tool app.

The headroom performance is well below 0.00% lol. I presume this have something to do with my processor. I'm using an i5. Looks like I'll need to do some shopping.

Any recommendations?

Gonna stick to playing on the widescreen until I get this sorted. Clearly a lot more going on in this than AC!
