Project Cars 2 is en route :D

I grabbed std version for £31 from amazon. Prime allows you £2 quid if the £33 price. Basically it's dvds and a steam key

Thanks Westie, but I've just had an absolute touch. Speaking to my dad earlier, apparently he still had my old wheel at his place, been up in the loft since I moved around. Just nipped over and retrieved it, still in the box...hopefully it all still works, it's a Logitech MOMO FFB wheel. Gonna try setting it up, would be a touch if it's still working, I wasn't keen on buying a new wheel for one game.
What is this touch of what you speak?

Anyone with a G27 not able to get their clutch pedal recognised? I've been playing around but can't assign it or get it to recognise being pressed at all.

On the flip side I just won my first career race in Ginetta juniors :)

Steam Launch options that might be helpful
For multithreading on CPU -pthreads 4 (physical threads so mine is set to 6)
To gain a little performance and be a billy no mates -skipcrowds
To output to VR headset only -vrnomirror

Have you got that bug with w10 that makes windows recognise the wheel as a driving force wheel? I had that issue. Easily fixed with a quick Google and a change of driver.

does -dx11mt have any effect as my PCars launch options were ' -pthreads 4 -dx11mt'

Just been playing this for a couple of hours. First impressions:
- Looks amazing.
- Attention to detail. I've never been so excited at being able to manually control my lights and wipers in a game.
- The immersion. Is it just me or is the helmet cam just utterly fantastic? I nearly always play racing games in full cockpit, but helmet cam really adds to it...the way the depth of field changes subtly, and the way your head looks toward the apex - just feels great. I love it.
- Force Feedback. It's a little unnerving at first, but once you get used to it, you realise how the game is letting you feel the road surface conditions, etc.

My only gripe with the game is that I am utterly terrible :p I cannot drive for toffee. I can't seem to match my wheel inputs to the game, I'm generally either not turning the wheel fast enough, or not giving enough lock and running wide. The wheel seems to be perfectly matched with the 3D wheel in the cockpit, so this is hopefully something I just need to get used to - think I need to be less timid with it. I guess it doesn't help that it's got a steep learning curve, and I haven't used a racing wheel for years.

Think I'm gonna spend a while longer in the private test mode just to get a feel for the game. I did try a couple of quick races, but was hopeless.
Still - the game is excellent so far :)

Slang, means a stroke of luck. Not quite sure where I picked it up from.

Start in the slower stuff Formula Rookie or Ginetta Junior...Clio Cup is fun but lift off oversteer is a bitch...

Escort RS1600 and Group A are good too. Faster stuff the GTE would be my pick of the bunch. I'd say avoid the GT3 cars, I've not been all that impressed with them...

Avoid the karts like the plague, they're insane ...
