Project cars benchmarks

I couldn't tell either if it was taking the mick, but I gave it a shot lol

It's comfortable on Medium settings SMAA on my setup, even with a good number of cars, but it's not good enough for my liking. Playable though in every other aspect, solo etc is fine.

I had to on my to buy list, not anymore, not until it runs as well as it should, right now it looks unplayable on a 290.

Weird, I was getting good results on my 290s (even with a single card) on the beta builds at 1440p. Has that changed?

When I had 970 SLI OC this ran great for me on max settings. Ran quite well with earlier beta builds on 290 crossfire. Now runs baaaad.

~15fps on 290xfire with max settings(except AA) in the rain. Doh.

We're working with the dev to find out what the problem is, as you've said this was not previously the case on the beta builds of the game. :)

Is it the 290 that is suffering most? :(

I'll hold off playing it until the problem is sorted then. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, though it has arrived.

Why on earth are amd waiting until after the games full launch to decide to work with the dev on fixing this? According to Ian Bell, sms haven't heard from amd since October.

Amd are taking this like its some freak error that's popped up at the 11th hour, when all other evidence suggests otherwise.

According to sms, they didn't get paid from Nvidia, yet as stated earlier, there is in game Nvidia advertising.

Problem being regardless what vendor input is in games, final builds change at launch.

Don't take the above as a stance for 'AMD defence'-bottom line, GW's titles with **** poor support or not working on AMD(regardless the blame) isn't good enough not to mention it is loosing AMD customers.

From using AMD on a personal pov, the waters are so muddy regarding GW's running on AMD it is unbelievable, case in point, over@
http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/35146-Are-AMD-users-left-high-and-dry

Why won't the W3 devs reply to their customers concerns, plenty have asked and getting ignored?

Muddy Waters.:(

Next gpu purchase will take into account that I keep hearing 'turn off GW's features' if it stays that way, no chance I'll be staying on AMD.

Afaik amd didn't pay code masters, amd advertising in dirt rally? Maybe codemasters did it as a nod to the guys at amd that helped...God forbid should that be the case with nvidia

I'm not jumping to anyone's attack or defence, it's just every time I see problems like this amd seem to prefer to take the hard done by route rather then actually get things fixed from the get go. It's easier for them to point the finger then it is to stand up and admit they'd screwed up. We know they can get drivers and hotfixes out of the door with minimal hassle, they did so with gta v, they need to replicate that for every game, not just the odd one.

I say all of this as someone who will be moving gpus and possibly monitors in the coming months, its becoming increasingly difficult to look at amd seriously.

If AMD/Nvidia want to state/imply it's free advertising, then they are good liars, advertising is not free in this world, monies/goods/services always change hands, imo it's naive to think otherwise.

Fed up with the politics(never got into GW's debates since BA), just wan't to game, as I said, whoever is providing the most game time will get my next purchase(regardless where the blame lies) which looks like it'll be Nvidia.

As others have said the game ran fine in BETA, they must have done something to it on release thats messed up AMD's performance.

If its a GW title then Nvidia had first shout at optimising, AMD have said they are working with the dev now.

I would like to issue a word of caution, if you have (just like me), discovered that AMD Raptr has added a config optimise option for pCARS.

The "performance" optimise, for me at least, is suggesting "DS2M" anti aliasing.

As a WMD member, I can categorically state that this AA method is not functioning correctly on AMD graphics cards, your screen gets a distinctive 70s disco feel to it. ;)

While it was a pleasant surprise to see a pCARS optimise function so soon, I'm a little baffled how DS2M is being suggested! :D
