Since this is a build log I might as well share with you guys the bad stuff too.

Here is the mess after draining the loop

And this is me testing the CPU on engstrom0304s AM3 board

And here is my PC at the moment, ready to test a GPU on. Shinester184 has very kindly allowed me to use his 5850 to test my motherboard.

I suppose all I can do now is wait

Good idea to test the motherboard for sure as our tests couldnt necessarily rule out the motherboard for certain... Remember your graphics card may be fine as it could have been my motherboard that was the culprit.

We should find out tomorrow - I'm gonna drop my 5850 in his motherboard. If we get a POST, bye bye graphics card...

As far as i was aware the bags are conductive on the outside. I just sit mine on the box.
Im trying to find a reference to back this up.

To create the anti-static effect, the black or silver bags are slightly conductive, forming a Faraday cage around the item to be protected and preventing any localized charges from being deposited onto the protected devices as the bags are handled.

PROBLEM IDENTIFIED!!!!

Thanks to Shinester184 lending me his 5850 I have found that the motherboard in fact is fully functioning and the problem was my 5850. Here is a picture of his 5850 in my PC. (Don't worry about the fact that there is a waterblock and no water lol. We only ran it for a few seconds )
