Project: Fallen Angel

It doesnt help that I have this hidden away under my desk which means it's just circulating hot air. For a 24/7 pc it's perfect, it's hard not being able to compete with watercooling tho, restricted by temps lol. Forgot how frustrating aircooling can be!

Id love to try watercooling myself m8, but it would cost a fortune to do my current rig, (not sure if ill have a job in the next few days, which certainly doesnt help). Still though, it runs pretty cool, both cpu and gpu's, i play a lot of bfbc2 and run it maxed at 1920x1200, cpu hits 59c highest core, gpu's 66-64c on a custom fan profile, forgot to enable it last night and seen the cards hit 84-85c respectively.:o Also kept below a desk as the case is to big to fit on top of it.

My area of organised chaos.

Id definitely reccomend it m8, the 400 series are notorious for heat/noise and power consumption. The latter cant be fixed by the end user, however the former two can be tamed with good case cooling/airflow, my previous sli gtx 275's at stock actually ran a lot hotter than my current 470's, same case and fans and gpu fan profile.

Nearly forgot to mention w3bbo left angle sata cables are around, I got some sata3 ones by okgear & for sata2 there is startech, well worth getting to compliment the hdd cable work you have done on this & they are less than £3 each :), found out about them when I was looking for left angle cables so the cable goes up rather than down or out, not many people are selling them to my surprise but they can be found :).

Build looks fabulous Webbo

Cheers m8

EXCELLENT!! I'll have to have a scour when I get hom as this works pc blocks half the sites google brings up :(. Thanks for the info m8;)

Fantastic build! Only thing I would change would be to use the 3M carbon fibre instead of glossy CF, although it looks great either way! Glad to see air cooling getting some love too!

Yeah but summer is nearly here so I might have to go back to water. I'm already getting the itch for new build but not seen an enclosure I really fancy yet.

Very nice case. I'm a big fan of cube cases having owned 3 mountainmods cases.

Can't really judge the xspc case without seeing it in person though but from the pics i've seen it looks promising if somewhat expensive.

XSPC case looks like too much of a blank canvas for me but I suppose that's what makes it appeal to people like w3bbo. IMO the best looking case ever is the TJ07, especially with some of the various mods out there for it. Wish I could find one going second hand anywhere!

Considered doing anything with them new aluminium Cubitek cases? They look fairly moddable and there is plenty you can do with them to make the style to your liking. Big too which is as plus for watercooling. But I suppose they are very similar to the Lian Li's you have worked with in the past.

I agree the TJ07 is a fantastic case but it's pretty much been done to death. I prefer something a little different.

Wouldn't mind a go at the tj11 but thats just a ridiculous price for what it is.

We'll see what cases are on the horizon or I might go cap in hand to xspc and get another sponsored job on the go :D

The TJ11 is visually the best case I have ever seen but the price :O ! I would rather they make it in steel and be able to afford it than make it out of ali. Yeah, the TJ07 has been done many times, I particularly like the mod where you paint the top, front, and bottom part glossy red, really looks fantastic! Would love to be able to find one for sale anywhere though!

I'm sure you could do something with the H1 to make it look special, but it is very expensive for what you are getting. Considered the upcoming Xigmatek Elysium? It looks a lot better quality than the other stuff from Xigmatek, big for plenty of modding and watercooling (or an SR-2 build... hint, hint), and if the guy I know from there is right, we should be seeing reviews in the next few weeks. I think it retails at around £100. You could also anodise the front aluminium parts to suit your taste. You could also just generally make it look better too!

w3bbo, if i were to CF inside of my antec 900, how much CF vinyl should i order? :D how much did u use on ur case?

Can't remember off hand. I think I ordered about 5 metres. Didn't need anywhere near that but got extra in case of mistakes.

Great looking Mod w3bbo, stunning work! You completely swung my opinion on CF vinyl, 5stars and lots of +Rep :)

Cheers :D

indeed boff in, the vinyl looks very convincing! do want!

It's not easy to do tbh. You will need plenty of patience and unlike wallpaper, the bubbles will not disappear unless you squeegee them out. Some bubbles are stubborn so I just popped them with a pin which sorted them out;).

I think the CF came to £20 so it's a cheap and effective mod. The 3m stuff is better coz it's textured but I didn't want textured so went for the cheaper stuff. The only problem with the cheaper stuff is it's very thin so mistakes are easy to do and are difficult to mask. Imagine using something thinner than selotape on a much larger scale and you get the picture!!!
