Project Marshlands: A Military Themed Build..

That looks fantastic. :)

Hope you have an OcUK Mug, so you can fit it in some of the shots! I might have to put the final result on our Facebook/Twitter page. :)

Hahaha, you know I've got one.. :)

I'll do a few shots with the mug later and forward them to you.. ok?

Thanks for all the amazing comments guys.. It's always so heart warming to check back and see all your lovely replies! Glad you guys like the project so far ;)

Looking awesome. You thought about removing the motherboard heatsinks and doing the same dipping/weathering process that the rest of the build has had done?

Hi, for now I think the motherboard might just get away "unscathed".. :D

Thanks once again for the lovely comments everyone..

Ever consider making a themed custom block for the Sabertooth VRMs and northbridge?

Hi Avenged7Fold, I did initially plan to do this, but I really do think it will take more away from the look than anything else..

was the reason for going AMD just for that coloured mobo?

Sabertooth motherboards do come in AMD and Intel varieties ...

Hi guys..

Still no further updates on the tubing as I am having a nightmare of a time with the copper pipe.. I am through all 3 meter of it with no usable pieces to show :(

I have ordered another lot of "easy flare" pipe which has a thinner wall, lets hope things go a tiny bit better..

Got another mysterious box in the post today..

All the way from Minneapolis .. a place called Mnpctech... ;)

Looks like a laser cut replacement window for the Corsair Vengeance C70 case!!!!!!!

Complete with replacement grommets..

Definitely impressed by the quality of the acrylic! The holes are perfectly aligned and the finish is flawless!

Also included was a few modding "extras" ;)

I want to give a massive thanks to Bill Owen at Mnpctech for supplying this project with this lovely replacement window and also for being such an awesome guy.. ;)

Can't wait to see the end result, your certainly paying attention to every single detail.

Thank you steven2805, I'm very glad you like it.. ;)

Never worked with copper pipe so have no suggestions or solutions to your problems. The only other build I know of to use copper piping is the Steampunk TJ11 build by Fuganater - maybe there is something in the build log of how he did the copper piping (not sure I can link the forums with the build log on but google finds it :) )

Thanks Greboth, I found it. I think what makes mine harder is the fact that I'm trying to do much more precise "square" bends rather that rounded bends.. if that makes sense..

It might be worth having a look on some of the car forums (or even more specifically the kit car or car building forums - eg www.locostbuilders.co.uk ) and see if there are any tips from people doing brakes about working and flaring copper pipe.

Thanks john_s, I have fine combed the web and youtube to see all the tricks and tips.. I think my next attempt would be a better one.. :)

Jesus, i've always liked that case but never imagined it could be made to look this good - really really top work.

One of the best builds i've ever seen!

The attention to detail & passion you've put into this project are astonishing :) Almost every update has surprised me with your creativity seemingly knowing no bounds.

Awesome build. Kudos!

Thanks so much for these very flattering comments V-Spec and Semaphia!!

excellent build love the theme  are you going to do something to the psu pci express cables ? maybe camo them up or look like they been in mud maybe.

Thanks ~>Dg<~.. I definitely have some plans ;)

This build is astonishing, I freaking love it! The attention to detail and the creativity you must have to do all this is more than impressive, I'm looking through this and each time I say "Dang, that looks perfect, what else could you possibly do?" you come back with more awesome features to add, well done sir!

Can't wait to see the final product :)

Thank you so much 3lackMamba.. It's always such feeling when I come back to this log and see how much you guys like the build..

I just spent the last hour reading every post and gawking over every detail, best hour spent of my day.

I almost spilt my tea & toast over the PSU cover & vent pictures!

Amazing, utterly amazing, I remeber doing paint work like these on my Warhammer army back in the late 90's, this is like a boyhood dream ome true.

Fantastic work well done! I eagrly await the finished build!

Josh

What a humbling comment! Thank you so much J05H86UK!! :)

I definitely think the White surrounding the Black 'Asus' logo between the 2 graphics cards need something to calm it down as it really contrasts and stands out, or is that just the picture?

Hope your plumbing is going well and keep up the fantastic work! :)

Hi Roady, thanks for your comment.. The Asus logo isnt really that prominent to the naked eye.. ;)

Could I ask you to please edit your previous post and just remove the quoted image please..

...........................

Tiny little update for today..

Replaced the standard side window with the one from Bill at mnpctech and started on the plumbing..

Took about 5 minutes to swap and looks outstanding..

First few bends..

....and all the mishaps :(

Wow, truly an amazing build I cant wait to see it 100% finished. I would kill to have the skills you do.

Haha, that is very flattering thanks atmax1.. ;)

I have now come across a little problem, I need to buy some 90 degree fittings for the last two bends before I can continue with the loop :(

While I'm waiting on the last of the watercooling stuff to arrive I had a go at making some sli bridges..

Definitely feeling the "less is more" feeling with this one.. ;)

Also had to move a few things around to re-position the pump under the res..

Some more photos..

Thanks for all the amazing comments throughout this log guys, I should have the final update coming next week..

So how do the copper pipes fit into the fittings?

That's one thing Im interested in

Hi Addicted, the fittings have 2 "O rings" inside that seals the connecting between the fitting and the tube as you slide it in..

Hope that explains things a bit better ;)

If anyone has any questions about anything in the log, please feel free to ask..
