You werent joking snips when you said there was a tight gap between the cards. How are your temps btw, and gotta say they look great in the case.
It took me a while to get the fan curve right, but its now top 80c and bottom 70c - that's only on Dying Light, I've not tested all the other games I've got installed (Batman:AO, Crysis 3, Alien Isolation, COH2).
I know that v-sync will help with the reduction in temps/noise so I may try that at some point, but I'm trolling my brothers pulling 85fps on Dying Light at the moment
Better than I thought. Considering I got each card for £350, I'm not fussed. Also, where else will you get 2 top end cards for that price
Yeah, they're incredible that's for sure! Got plenty of games to test them with so I'll find out how best to set them up! Overclocking may come at some point
No, it would only run of the CPU header and would stop the fans entirely. This worried me - I ended up using a y-Splitter for my case fans and controlling them using the ASUS Suite. Works OK!
I tried using it on a standard fan header but it wouldn't pick it up, even though the SATA power was connected!
Looks much better with the Titans in. It seems a shame to put waterblocks on them but the temps warrant it
I think it'll be OK if I'm honest. While those with Titans have been running them under water with temps below 50c, I've been able to keep mine to sub 80c with various settings/changes to game settings and fan profiles. Look at those running GTX980's in SLi, these are hitting 80! I'm seeing a small drop in the core speed but nothing that'll affect the performance.
It is my intention to WC them but they look sooooo good I'm not going to rush it
Fair one and if it is any consolation, when I add 165mV to the 290X in my case, it hits 90C with 99% fan speed lol, so your tempos are fine and yer, a small drop in performance won't notice
On the other side though, these are capable of giving more and air cooling is holding them back - certainly when you're running more than 1 in close proximity!
I'm looking forward to WC them as I want MOAR POWER!!!!
