Project: Molten Gold

Have you considered an amber/orange light...be interesting to see how that reacts with the internal gold colour.

I think that'd be a great colour for this case. If I'm able to change the bulbs of the strip, I may change every other bulb to a white one to half the amount of warm colours if it's too much because there's already a lot of gold in this build.

With the little window i decided to go with a contrasting colour to the main window (i went with white in the main window and red in the little window) Maybe this is something that you can consider?

Sounds like a great touch actually, didn't think about that. I may have to get some help from Dulux to get a contrasting (or maybe complimentary) colour for the smaller window.

Also, I should have an update on how this is looking tomorrow. I have the morning free so I'll be able to take some pictures (:

man this looks awesome! I absolutely love this case (and I own a white one)
keeping an eye on this one

Quick question on the LED lighting, BitFenix Alchemy's or NZXT CB-LED10's? Which is best and why? (both the orange versions)

OR would the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe Multicolour LED strip work with this case?

I feel you need something extra to really show off the gold inside the case. It might just be a bad picture but the gold doesn't show an awful lot.

MINOR UPDATE

Okay so the other day I went down to Tesco & bought myself a lovely gold pen & below is the result of some rushed modding. Please note, this is just a test mod & the finish looks terrible because it's only done for the purposes of colour testing. The final result will look MUCH smoother & will have no missing bits. I may also do the grey rubber vibration reducers in the same colour too, we shall see.

Thanks :)
The exact pen I used is a Pilot Super Colour Gold extra fine. Should come in a pack of two (one gold and one silver). Tips for using this pen: once you have ink flow, press lightly and you'll get a good flow of ink. Go slowly, fast will dry the tip up. Try to go in long continuous strokes and cover the area once, going over it again will ruin the finish. I may buy another one soon and try another method (it'll be explained once done so subscribe to make sure you don't miss it!)

Ford "Solar Gold" from Halfords is not a bright yellow gold its got a slight dark hint to it. Might suit your colour matching if you are struggling to find something.

Ah thanks Colin. Does it have a reflective finish like my pen method or is it more of a matte kind of finish? Ideally I'd like the rings on the fans to stand out & be reflective to give the impression that they're metal not plastic.

- minor update -

Sorry for the lack of progress with the build so far. This is due to it being Christmas soon so money is unfortunately being shared out elseware. I'm also trying to save up for a place so me & my partner can move in together.

I'll add a few parts for the gpu loop to my christmas list & hopefully someone will get me something. I'm starting with the gpu for two reasons. One, the cpu already has the H100i and two, it's the noisiest part of the system so it needs to get hushed.

Sorry I never responded to this, in answer to your question, No its more a matt finish.
I toyed with the idea of actually doing it in gold leaf but its a finky process!

Maybe when I do my upgrade I'll try something ;)

Ah right okay, thanks (: I would do that too, but I have no idea where to get that from or what the process involves :') My girlfriend has bought me some things from Overclockers (I know because when on facetime the other day I saw her eating a small packet of Haribo which she never eats aha!) so hopefully it'll be some things to get my first custom loop started! They won't arrive until after christmas, but as soon as they turn up I'll post pictures! :D

Just over a month since I posted, sorry guys! So, it turns out my partner bought me a new keyboard for Christmas (: it's not related to this thread so I won't post pictures of it unless requested. On a more topical note, look what just came in the post today (:

Some progress is better than none :D

Indeed (: I'm considering also buying some tubing & fittings, just so I can get an idea of the tubing route and possibly cut some of it to length whilst I save for the rest of the parts.

New plan for this now. Cpu is getting cooled first as I hate having the H100i in there now, the black tubing looks ugly! Plus when I come to wc the gpu, I'll want a full cover block with a backplate and my current card doesn't support that :( so a new card will also be needed. This build is getting far too expensive, but don't tell my bank balance that, it's in enough pain as it is aha! Expect some more pictures in February, cables, fans & lighting are what I have planned for that month (:
