i prefer your old case tbh

if money is tight, why not consider a cheaper board than the Rampage3?
the only reason to get a rampage 3 in my opinion is to clock gulftown. perhaps consider a different board and put some more money on the memory.

it depends how important looks are to you to be honest.

i prefer your old case to the lian li ;)

definatly

the rampage cant clock any higher on standard watercooling than any other x58 board

every X58 board can do 4ghz+ on a D0 chip.

if you are considering the x58d premium then yes it is a great board

but the x58D-E is just as good and about £100 cheaper

i would take a good kit of overclocking memory over an extreme clocking motherboard anyday. as i said before the only reason to look at rampages is if you plan on runnign gulftown.

the rampage II is cheaper too and although it doesnt have all the usb3 and sata6 nonsense on there it is still very good.

Oh damn, now that I want to watercool the gpu, I need 8 barbs, but there were only 7 in stock when I ordered :(

I'll just get a couple of 7/16" barbs and get some clips to secure it

that will do it easy

i know the GT doent really fit the curent color scheme but the D-E is an excellent board. you wouldnt notice any difference from the rampage.

in fact its probably easier to clock

I had the exact same case as your old one, it lasted me about 5 years untill I got fed up with not much room and bought an Antec 1200, have you got the side window with 2 sort of round shapes ? I drilled them out with a large hole cutter and fitted 2 120mm fans there, worked a treat, my daughters boyfriend has it now after I flogged him my old setup to fund my Crosshair IV and ram :D

A backplate would look amazing on my 480, but would it make any difference to temps?

Also, just checked the case. I'd have been mad to try to fit a 420 in there! I'll struggle fitting a 360 tbh :p

Well it looks like the x58-e and some dominator (not GT ram) :D Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to this

I dunno about the side panel. The window has no straight lines, it's all very curvy, I think I see the 2 round shapes you speak of. It's an amazing case really

Jealous of the Intel SSD! Having said that, I would have waited until the refresh to buy the SSD :p But that's just me.

But still, looks like this will be a nice build mate :) Well done on your GCSE results are obviously in order as you are getting this :p
