Well I feel im not getting all the performance out of my rig due to temps holding me back but I really like having a small compact case with the power of a full tower gaming rig Link here.. I have no plans on taking it to LAN's for awhile as im banned from driving so my plan is to build a external rad box that will sit on a shelf like a Pre-amp in a AV stand thats connected just with 2/4 pipes feeding the PC with cool water.

This silver amp is like the radbox will sit just to give you a idea(not my pic).

Heres my plan so far. I only started using sketch-up yesterday so sorry for stuff been off center etc.

At some point i will probably add another triple rad for the GPU loop but to start i will just run the CPU off a Thermochill PA120.3 that im having Custom painted.

I have a spare Thermaltake TR2-500w laying around from a old rig and its a nice gloss black finish so will fit the bill perfectly with all the nasty stickers pulled off.

Once cracked open to see what im working with it all looks pretty alien.

It will be built out of 8mm clear acrylic bolted together with stainless countersunk screws.

Res is still to be decided when i see how much space i have to work with. Pump im using is a DDC 18w with petras top that will also hopefully be custom painted

Comments welcome.

Just both cards and CPU but its all incased in a SFF case so everything just heats up as theres not much air flow. Ima prolly add the NB into the Second GPU loop.

Plexi has come all cut and it fits together perfect.

Next is to drill, countersink and tap all of it together with the stainless M3 countersunk bolts.

I'm in discussion with painter on colour scheme on the rad but should be finalized soon.

Cheers.

Ok so yesterday i blew the PSU i was going to use for this been really stupid and i think im lucky i didnt get hurt. But thanks to happy i should have another in the next few days along with a big box of parts.

Anyway got a before shot of my new PA120.3 before painting.

As i want this to be as quiet as possible what Fans you think i should go for?

Noctuas?
Slow Sharkoons(volt modded)?
Scythe S-Flexes?

I dont have anywhere for a fan controller so these will be running same speed always. So need to be as quiet as possible.

My personal favorites are the S-Flex 1600's

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-005-SY

not in stock though :(

Yea iv got some of them now but there not quiet enough for my liking. I think its a choice between:

Sharkoons 1000 golf ball.
Noctua 800.
Scythe S-flex 800.

The rad set up will be a PA120.3 just for the CPU so i shouldnt need that much speed from the fans to keep it nice and cool. I want to be able to sleep with this running so been silent is high on my list.

Yateloons D12SL-12 @ 7v.

Are these silent though duder?

Yup. They are almost silent at 12v but at 7v perfectly silent. You need to consider noise vs performance tbh m8. Silent fans (such as akasa ambers, sharkoon eagles) don't push too much air. It's a fine balance tbh and after trying loads of fans I find the best compromise with silence, performance AND cost are yateloons modded to 7v.

Well I do trust your judgement as you've been in this game for awhile. Do toy think the 140mm version of that yate would be a decent match for exhaust fans? I just gotta get my old mate to get them in stock now.

Is'nt there a problem with running a high wattage psu with very little load. It may lead to problems further down the line. I have a 150w AT switching psu in my box powering the watercooling and after 3-4 years is still going fine. It runs the pump, a couple of led's and three 120mm 0.4a fans.

Well iv got a 450w PSU coming. Its mega over kill but as theres hardly anyload i hope the fan keeps nice and slow. Guess i will find out if it causes problems.

iv been warned off those fans by a very reliable source. Iv got 2 low yates coming but the 20mm version ones for my xspc rad in my V350. Then I have 3 1600rpm S-flex's I can steal for the rad box I can 5-7v volt mod so will hopfully keep them quiet.
