This is just one of those games that is so hopelessly boring without friends or people on the server communicating with you.
You're kind of right there.
For one, the game's requirement for voice comms pretty much
should rule out people not communicating with you, but we all know that's not the case, especially after a sudden influx of noobs to the game.
The whole game can be boring if you allow it to be, for example....
If you're in a motor squad you may be asked to run ammo, so all you're doing is reloading the motor tubes or driving back to base for creates. However, a good squad leader should rotate duties so nobody gets bored.
The same squad leader may ask you to select a sniper kit and send you out spotting for enemy targets with the instructions of
'do not engage unless fired upon'. Even as the motor operator you're essentially just dialing in numbers into a screan, but you're also racking up the kills (if your received intel is good) which alleviates the boredom somewhat.
The above roles are very important but there's a chance of playing the whole round without firing your gun. But hey, this is Ronseal Woodstain and therefor all players should be aware it's not a shoot-em up fest from start to finish.
As I said earlier in the thread, to get the most out of this game you have to do your bit by playing the part. By that I mean you need to immerse yourself into it. The more players around you that do so, the more realistic it becomes.
