Project: Virgin Enthusiast Build

Got the EK block installed, looks lot nicer.

Have tidied up my hosing as far as practicable.

And took me a while to prime the systemm had the case in all sorts of positions!!! seems to be running well now with no air bubbles.

Just doing the leak test now, piccies to follow shortly.

One comment mind, it aint exactly quiet!!! It's not bad as an A-Weighted SPL, but there is a tonal component somewhere (I think PSU) that is doing my nut in. its probably around the 500Hz mark as a guess.

Also, the pumps are pretty noisy at their max flow setting. hopefully the tempes will let me run them at their minimum setting, as they are reasonably quiet then.

Obviously, proper noise level measurements are in the pipeline ;)

Right....

My ATK/PSU bridge connector didn't allow my PSU to power up no matter what I did, so had to run power through my mobo. obviously no power through my CPU or GFX!!! But doing it thios way risks a mobo fry if any water gets onto it while leak testing. I triple checked all connections prior to putting water in and whilst filling the loops up.

Additionally, I have some of this: Fluid XP+ which is apparanlt non-conductive, non-toxic, non-xorrosive, bio-degradable and good for heat transfer if you believe the marketting dribble.

On with the pix...

Yeah, that EK bridge is nice. makes for a mroe robust system also. Got Gary to thank for that ;)

That is seriously foohking sexeh. Now its time to reap the fruits: OVERCLOCK OVERCLOCK OVERCLOCK!

If its true about hl3 / source 2 comming out, you couldnt have timed it better! :D

Going to plug all the cables in tonight and find somewhere to mount my SSD (no hard drive bay spaces left!!!).

Then just get that bad boy booting into windoze 7 and get some baseline data with it running at the current clock of 3.8GHz.

Then I can start tweaking the CPU and GFX ;)

DeeJayCee looks good now. The bridge does make it look a whole lot better.
As for the SSD I sat mine on top of the top hard drive cage, they are so small they can hide anywhere.
I read you didn't like the top of the PC80 you know you can change that to the 2x 120 or 140 fan top its totally flat so no box on top
