Project Whurple - White/Purple Watercooled Build - Changes to 3d printer build!!

3d printer is here:

Shout out to Director, may she rest in peace. My bread and butter for almost a decade.

MAX has a native STL export so you should be fine. I recommend Cura for slicing the STL for printing. Holler if you need a hand setting anything up when it arrives.

The 3d printer is here!! Jesus that was fast!

The only issue, the instructions to build it, drivers etc are all on a CD.... I don't have a cd drive on any pc anywhere.

Who needs instructions :D For £75 shipped it doesn't seem bad at all. Did check and you can get them for cheap all over the place so it isn't the best deal in the world but still it's a bit of fun!

Well done mate
And holy **** for the cost I was expecting to see a really small bit of machinery

It will print 200x200x200 which is plenty for me. :)

Also it's on the chest I made from pallets, old broken furniture and spare wood. This will be what Whurple sits on next to the desk.

Crikey, that's a lot of printer for £75! My Ender 3 Pro was £180 and is only single z-axis drive, although my frame is all aluminium extrusions rather than tubes.

The big trick I see here is no instructions means no immediate way of telling what firmware you have on the control board, and as a result no idea what to tell your slicer (e.g. I set my Cura to use Marlin for its gcode).

It's on the CD!!! The CD says, Assembly manual, cura 15.04, Cura manual, Firmware. Looks like I may need to go and have a look in the garage and find a pc with a cd drive in it!

if it comes with Cura then it's probably Marlin

It does. Just went out to garage and found an old pc with a dvd drive. Will plug that into something and grab all the files off of the cd!

I have no doubt that I will be needing copious amounts of help!

Check it out! Boom!

Gotta sort that wiring out with some of the zip ties and some more cable tidy things but that is looking like its ready for software and things.

Now get it trammed! (I refuse to use the common parlance term "levelling" because it's just not correct :p )

Enjoy, the most addictive nightmare of your life has just begun, welcome to the club :D

With the building done I installed the software, set up all the "stuff" it tells me to. It will actually print 200x200x180 not that that makes any difference to me really. Anyway After that I played with a few models and looked at thingiverse for a bit. Tomorrow I think I will set up all the drivers and explore this Tramming you speak of. There is a whole section in the properly dodgey manual (there isn't, I thought there was but just checked and it's a lie) I'm on my own from here on out!
