PS4 and Xbox Rumours

What happens when your HDD dies (most likely component to die too)? If its not user replaceable that means sending back hopefully for a warranty replacement (if its still in warranty). Seems pretty backwards compared to what they did with the X360.

Also for people that want this under their TV thats another external box to cater for - wait wasnt this meant to be all-in-one? Just a niggle rather than a major annoyance, someone at MS really didnt think this through...

Hard drives for these consoles VERY rarely fail. In fact, I've never heard of one failing.

In fact x2 - I've not had ANY hard drive fail for about 10 years now. (Out of 10 internal 3.5", 2 external 3.5", 4 Xbox 360's, 2 PS3's)

Do the triggers only vibrate then? I'd interpreted it as them having force-feedback, like some sort of active resistance. That'd probably be quite a lot more expensive to implement though, which is why I did wonder.

Do you really equate your 18 HDDs as an adequate sample for your findings? :D

Haha, I just hope everyone feels better after they've got some sleep, we're clearly all passionate about games so why we can't all find common ground and get along, I don't know.

The non-upgradeable HDD is a genuine surprise, I guess they'll be going with USB 3.0 add-ons at a later stage then.

Explains the odd recess and USB port on the side.

Either way, I don't think 500GB will go far with 50GB Blu ray discs (might they be 100GB discs these days?)

Hasn't been stated if the mandatory installs are complete game installs or just a small package of data.

Just watched the xbox reveal and a few things took my interest, but not in a good way, seems voice comms is a biggie but from my somewhat limited experience of voice comms they seem rather poor with certain accents, my scottish 1 gets more broad when im playing games and emotions getting heightened. Secondly this whole tv thing wont mean much to me as I only get 10 channels thru my aerial due to my location, which isn't really a bother as I don't watch much tv. Then there was the whole EA thing with words like immersive and human like AI, until we get screens of at least 180 degrees then no game can give that type of experience where ur peripheral vision can pick up movement no matter which console its on.
