PST: Project Silicon Talisman

Found out that one of the fan headers on the mobo is dead. So Ranger VII goes back. In the interest of saving time I will finish this build with the MSI Z87-G45 Gaming board that is still lying around somewhere and collecting dust.

This is my Swiftech MCP655-B pump. Time to treat it with a new Top. ;)

Has that ek revo being released recently as not seen it before?

Yes this pump top is the latest release from EK. It was not on sale anywhere as of last week. It comes with a nice inner rubber grip on the mounting bracket that goes over the body of the pump in addition to the top itself. Actually I ordered CSQ Top direct from EK and they offered me their latest top as they were out of stock on CSQ version, which they don't intend to make anymore.

That EK pump top looks very nice, it also has much more fitting options from how it looks. How come you have two different pumps? :)

You are using 2 different pumps in a single loop? Or dual loop?

Using two pumps in series in a single loop. I have these two pumps from my previous loop so do not see any need to buy something new. They worked very well in series in past so I am hoping, things will work out very well here too. Only bought this pump top for D5 to improve aesthetics and avoid mixing up any soft tubing to connect the D5 pump.

i have received the replacement LED strip for the faulty one on the case. It is quite simple to replace. The front panel can be taken apart by unscrewing 6 screws and then you have access to the led strips.

Made an opening through the rear side panel to install 3x 140mm fans for air intake. hopefully it will bring in enough fresh air. installed the fans with the grills and the dust filters.

It's impressive how you have mounted the fan grills (I hope thats what they're called) on the case as they form a nice clean line down the side instead of being wonky. Also the cuts in the pannel are nice and straight.

Excellent work :D

Thanks buddy. Your comments are always very encouraging. :)

I had to do it because there isn't enough air intake as both 360mm and 420mm rads are exhausting air out. I am also using the rear fan as intake and one at the bottom also.

Made the mounting bracket for both the pumps to go on it. Also sleeved the pump cables.

Came out very well after cutting, drilling and painting to achieve the perfect fit.
