Pub / Bar for Date

How close does she live to Shepherds Bush? The Queen Adelaide on uxbridge road is a good option. Alternatively, if the weather is good, the Eagle on Askew Road has a massive beer garden, cushioned seating etc.

Only ever been in Road House hammered.

Same - I remember it being a bit grotty in all honesty although it's quite cool in its own way. That was years ago though.

If it's still the same, I think it'd depend on the type of girl as to whether I'd take her there!

Covent Garden will be busy on Friday night (I'm round the corner and often end up in the pubs for a beer and it's always packed).

I'd say go for a walk along Embankment and stop off at the oldest wine cellar in London.

It's called Gordon's Wine Bar, fantastic atmosphere. Is a bit warm and busy, but ultimately. Better than some overrated gastro pub.

EDIT: Just read through the thread, it's already been suggested, no brainer. And so what if it closes at 11pm? You're a **** date if you intend on finding a pub/club to start the date with and end up being there all night.

Go to Gordens, get some finger food, nice wine. Get a bit merry and then move on from there if it goes well?

Youth, honestly.

Perhaps read a couple of posts up where I did

not to be too pedantic but the post you quoted was specifically in relation to avoiding Covent Garden

Cellar Door is a good bar, I also recommended it further up the thread and though close to Covent Garden it is right on the Strand and certainly not down a side street.... the other bar isn't near

Don't go for any fishy finger food though...

Personally I consider Cellar Door to be Covent Garden, being right on the corner with the Lyceum. Appreciate that Cahoots is not. :)

I was a student at KCL for 4 years so got to know most of the decent places to drink in the vicinity. :)

The pub next to the QPR stadium in the middle of a council estate?

Yeah, she'll love that. :p:D

Ssssh don't ruin it, if it's tonight there is a game on too. :p

But in all seriousness, in Shepherds Bush I quite like The Defectors Weld. But not if it's tonight as it will be full of football fans.
