Pick somewhere near her place, just in case, you know.
I suggest The Springbok in White City.
There are some great pubs and bars off the side streets - you just need to know where to go.![]()
Only ever been in Road House hammered.
thus why the OP started the thread... but unless you're actually going to suggest some then your post is a bit useless
Perhaps read a couple of posts up where I did![]()
Covent Garden will be busy on Friday night (I'm round the corner and often end up in the pubs for a beer and it's always packed).
I'd say go for a walk along Embankment and stop off at the oldest wine cellar in London.
It's called Gordon's Wine Bar, fantastic atmosphere. Is a bit warm and busy, but ultimately. Better than some overrated gastro pub.
EDIT: Just read through the thread, it's already been suggested, no brainer. And so what if it closes at 11pm? You're a **** date if you intend on finding a pub/club to start the date with and end up being there all night.
Go to Gordens, get some finger food, nice wine. Get a bit merry and then move on from there if it goes well?
Youth, honestly.
The pub next to the QPR stadium in the middle of a council estate?
Yeah, she'll love that.![]()
Don't go for any fishy finger food though...
not to be too pedantic but the post you quoted was specifically in relation to avoiding Covent Garden
Cellar Door is a good bar, I also recommended it further up the thread and though close to Covent Garden it is right on the Strand and certainly not down a side street.... the other bar isn't near
You're planning to be drinking til 3am? You're doing it wrong!![]()

Any good recommendation for a Bar/Pub for a Date?
I live close to Hampstead on the Northern Line and she lives near Shepard's Bush on the Central Line.
