according to News papers you need to be on 4G/5G with Mobile data ON, so its pointless system
if a disastar happens
3G users die
2G users die
people at home with only wifi on die
Why not just send and SMS it work everywhere

2G/3G are in the process of being turned off, so it's no wonder they won't support it.

Edit: I would imagine SMS doesn't support broadcast, so they would need to send 10s millions of individual texts?

I didn't get the alert (three). I'm on my home wifi.

I wonder if it's like when using the 3 app on wifi. It used to not be able to detect the phone properly.

Those complaining about a spoken voice being in an American accent, there was no voice sent by the alert, that was generated by text to speech on your phone.

I got the alert on both my personal phone (EE) and my work phone (O2), so if my understanding is correct, that means I have 2 tickets on the off planet Ark if anyone wants to buy one

It's not only Three, there are two EE customers in my house and I know of two Vodafone who didn't get it.
