Well it happened with the MM vouchers last week as well, so let's not put this solely down to being on the public side.

No it did not, the code was never leaked!

The problem here with a public deal is the voucher code got leaked on discord resulting in even none forum members being able to order and no way for us to track them.

At least keeping it private the voucher code remained private and we also stand a better chance of catching the scalpers out, it works better than public deals but is still not 100% scalp proof.

FYI @ScottiB I know it isn't this particular card but I've just noticed this on the FB marketplace if you're interested

Currently 361 in your 3080 queue

OMG that is so blatant ! Selling back orders !

MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ventus 3X OC 10GB (Pre-order) OFFERS ALSO ACCEPTED - DM ME! PURCHASED VIA OverClockers UK - Reputable Computing Retailer Current Queue Position - 361 CONFIRMED BACKORDER (Will Update When Notified By OCUK) QUEUE positions upwards of 7/8 Months PLUS - A friend of mine is in position 2300 on the same card... The buyer WILL remain informed on queue position as often as possible, and the parcel will be shipped out within 1 working day of arrival via Royal Mail TRACKED Next Day Delivery or HERMES Tracked Delivery

Code is already leaked on Discord. :(

Be fast loyal members, we cannot change the voucher code as its a timely process that takes two people, SO BE FAST!

Was inevitable posting it publically.

Could you cancel orders from people that have never ordered from ocuk before or simply not worth the hassle and time involved?

My post count is tiny as I have only recently joined the forums, but I have been a regular customer buying components for over 10 years from you guys.

Is there some way to only allow loyal customers that have bought a certain amount of items, or spent a certain amount of money over the years to buy these gpus? And just block new customers and people that have only bought gpus or only a couple of items from you before?

Those are the people more likely to be scalpers i would have thought, not the customers that have bought dozens of items from you over the years?

You can't really call it a Code leak since it was posted on the public Graphics card section. Everyone from any part of the world could see it as soon as it was posted.

Yes but you can look at the time of the purchases vs when the code was dropped onto discord. I'm interested in how many went to potential buyers from here vs after.

Even thou this is a bit of work for the ockers staff Gibbo etc... I appreciate the effort - I'm finally going to be able to finish my build after 3.5 months and play some games (much needed). Ty

Well you can since it was supposed to only be used by forum members.

It was always going to happen though.

I hope all the complainers stop asking dumb questions now and maybe pigs will also fly the same day.

They aren't actively linked so we can't. otherwise it would be a lot easier to ban people from our forums for Scalping

isn't this free delivery I have seen people talk about done via linking shop and forum accounts? (or is it only one way or something with your backend?)

(also bugger I never knew that existed until now I could have saved so much!)

Ideally they would have some way of creating a sub-section that only allows members who joined prior to 2021. That would be the only way to accomodate old members who don't post on here.
