Put off by ATI ?

Bought my first ATI card earlier this year, a 5850 and have had no driver problems at all. Don't know what all the fuss is about tbh.

It's mainly certain games and crossfire. I think it was the 10.7 drivers that created a memory leak around 10 minutes within playing Borderlands [turning A.I. off did the trick] and BC2, any driver above 10.5 doesn't work in BC2 for the majority of users, crossfire or single and there are a few more problems.

There will always be a minority of people with problems at some point.

There is no way that Software & hardware will work with everything without issues but there will always be a few who when its there turn to have issues will voice out as if the issues are a major problem for everyone else & we all should be upset about.

Last night I got my gtx 480 up and running after changing from a 5870, and although only having a quick run through some games I am already much happier with the way things look.

For instance draw distances and shadows in BC2 were pretty poor for me on ATI going back to 10.4s helped but didn't make it go away completely, and as new games come out you can't rely on 5 month old drivers.

5870 was my first top spec ATI card ever and I won't be rushing back, having said that I will never go Sli again either (had 8800s) due to the driver problems that come with that

Go on! get another 480 for SLI! I was actually amazed at how well everything runs, although GTA 4 has some strange things happening with shadows!
