The ALU speed and multi thread speed is pretty much the same as a Q6600 with the same clock, the big kick comes on the FPU speed.

Very impressive.

Could have been bios on the Bonetrail, it is an ES board. Could be a few things. I think its another Bonetrail coming.

Doesnt it get hot with all that extra cache. You could run windows 3.1 just from the cache with that, main memory not needed

a guy from intel came here asking for the best overclocker, it seems this is why but we're only guessing unless weescott can tell us if he was picked.

how hot is it running when you do the benchy's? is coretemp working ok?

Not coretemp, speedfan or TAT work with this CPU, Asus AI tool goes pear shaped. I don't even know if I can trust the bios. I have an idea of what temperature it is running at but I don't want to say until I can confirm my own testing. But I will say it runs a lot cooler than the current chips!

I finally got some believable readouts:

Asus Maximus Formula has a fair bit of Vdrop and Vdroop.

1.34375v bios, 1.32v windows, 1.3v for 3584Ghz Orthos (quick test) 67c load. Room temperature of 20c. Using stock cooling!!!!!!!

Thats not a bad Vdrop, my DS3R is set at 1.55V in Bios, I think its about 1.5V in Windows, and at 3.4Ghz in orthos it's 1.47V.

Whats the difference bettwen Vdrop and Vdroop? I always thought Vdroop was people spelling Vdrop wrong.

VDrop is the CPU voltage being lower than what you set it at. Vdroop is the voltage dropping even further when under load.
