Qualifications for IT.

I'm sure several people have said it already but MCSE is worth getting we would bin any non mcse CV.. (mcse does not mean the person knows anything they may have jsut testking'd it) but still it keeps your CV in the pile..

But like I've said time and time again, only if it's relevant to what you want to do. Loads of jobs in IT where an MCSE has no relevance at all.

Unless I missed it OP still hasn't said what he wants to do, which will help decide which route to go down.

I am a techie and have currently gained A+ N+ MCP, MCDST, and 1 exam off MCSA. Technologies such as virtulisation are worth gettting certified for at the present as its uber technology :p

Hi.
Whats the general concensus on here regarding IT qualifications?

Ive been told multiple stories about this, some saying MS qualifications are must haves, some saying experiance is better, some saying a mix, some saying only do the MS qualifications for learning (like Exchange), some saying do the CCNA/CCNPs, some saying its only worth going upto MSCA so i can 'open a few doors' so to speak.

What do you all think?

Thanks in advance all. :).

I can vouch for the value of HP's certifications; I have several AIS (Accredited Integration Specialist) Certificates that have proved popular with potential employers at times when I've been trawling the job market. I have CCNA too amongst others but they seem to be ten a penny. To have more control of your salary you’re wise to go for more uncommon certs as differentiators.
