Quantum Break PC version confirmed!

Funny how MS are actually given the PC some love and people still ain't happy. There is more to PC platforms than Steam and there is nothing wrong with Windows 10 either. Take your tin foil hats off :p

Except that the Win 10 store version of Rise of the Tomb Raider misses... access to the game folder, access to exclusive full screen(so xfire won't work) and just didn't work well for me at all.

If Win 10 store provided a full version of the game, with normal access to the game folder, with real full screen gaming then sure, fine, I'd use it. While they are providing limited access to game content it's a joke.

Imagine Fallout 4 via Win 10 store with no game modding, GTA 5, Skyrim. Win 10 store is currently an abomination providing effectively console level gaming with console level options on a PC. Until/unless MS address issues and provide identical game access/quality to any other version of a game or basically to PC standards then they can screw right off.

The Windows 10 store is exactly that - an abomination. There's not even any way to see what items you have purchased to redownload them without going to the generic MS billing website, looking at your purchases, then going back to the store and searching for the item.

Microsoft should at least give us a choice - put the game on Steam, Origin and Windows store and let the customers choose instead of forcing them in. At least that's one good mark in Ubisoft's camp. They are yet to force people to purchase via uPlay and allow both that and Steam. (I hope that's not just a matter of time though.)

EDIT: I need to correct my first paragraph. There is a little icon next to the search box which has a drop-down menu and in there you can see your games library. Not blindingly obvious but it is there.

But isn't those issues due to the developers to sort out? MS only provides the platform to sell the game on. Its down the developers to sort game integration in the store same way Valve do with Steam.

Windows 10 store exclusive? Not interested.
I can live with Origin, as it actually competes with Steam (Pro's and Con's obviously).
Uplay for me is basically an add on to any Ubisoft game, I have no direct usage of it (As my Ubisoft games are still in Steam, downloaded in steam etc, just with Uplay tacked on) and that's about it.

But Windows 10 Store is a whole different kettle of fish, add to that a total lack of faith in Microsoft and it's a danger zone.

Nothing wrong with Windows 10, but not wanting to start using the Windows 10 store isn't exactly a surprise, not is it tin foil material.

But UWA is a closed platform in a pretty strict sense, it's not really anyway near the same thing as downloading and playing a game on Steam.

Windows 10 Store will never compete with Steam etc.

Windows 10 Store is as crap as the Windows 8 store was, and 8.1 store after that.

The sad thing is MS are pushing the Win 10 store going forwards :(

Fable Legends, Gears Of War 1 HD, Quantum Break, Halo Wars 2 etc etc are all going to remain Win 10 store exclusives as also DX12 titles which MS are keeping Win 10 only.

The only upside is PC will get many MS published games which would otherwise remain XB1 exclusives but having to sign into Win 10 is so wrong on so many levels & the Xbox Live App you must use is very barebones/poor right now.

Apparently Fable/minecraft Win 10 store versions have this same list of limitations. It seems to be a Win 10 store specific issue. I mean ROTTR works fine and even very well with sli/xfire but the Win 10 store doesn't. These are features that work but are removed for Win 10 store for whatever utterly stupid reason.

I'm probably more fine with the idea of MS wanting their own version of Steam than most, a open market and competition for Steam whose pricing I think is a joke. But if they want such a platform put some guys into coding something that isn't a complete pile of crud. Taking away basic features from gamers is laughable in terms of trying to draw gamers to using your platform.

Make a great platform, don't charge stupid prices for exclusivity and people will use your platform because they want to. Charge stupid prices to cover the cost of paying for exclusivity on a platform that is god awful and you'll just see people not bothering to buy the games at all.

Steam charge the stupid prices they do because they developed the platform most gamers wanted and by providing it people chose to use them. MS have all the money in the world to just employ some people to make a good platform and encourage users to WANT to use it rather than jam a crap platform down the throats of users who don't want to use it.... and consistently fail to do so. Second utterly useless PC gaming platform that once again missed all the key features people want and removes plenty of stuff there is absolutely no need to remove at all.
