12,000 people in the queue as of now, wow.
Some people in Edinburgh were going multiple times. I hope that's not allowed in London as it just increases the queue length for everybody.

I honestly don't know why people would bother waiting but at the same time I think it's quite nice. I'd prefer to stay at home but then I'm an incel.
BBC have, similar to authorities, had lots of time to prepare for a 4K HDR broadcast - who will be the commentator
Tom Fleming ?! he had his largest audience ever – an estimated 700 million listeners worldwide – when he and Angela Rippon described the wedding of Lady Diana Spencer to Prince Charles.
Dimbleby ? (...Samuel L)
It is a 5 mile walk to the back of the queue isn't it?Some people in Edinburgh were going multiple times. I hope that's not allowed in London as it just increases the queue length for everybody.

Thank god they are keeping the queue to the south of the river.
RIP and all that but this whole situation is verging on the ridiculous, particularly the closures on Monday. I’ll have had my lifetime fill of the monarchy by the end of this as I suspect will many others much younger than me.
It is compulsory to an extent though. If you normally work Monday's and you are still expected to go in this Monday you will get a days holiday in lieu. You realise its not compulsory right? Its up to the discretion of employers whether they close or not its not a public holiday and I'm almost certain I'll be in work monday unless theres some last minute change of heart.

You'll be gobsmacked when you learn what the other bank holidays are "for".I do. It's like a normal bank holiday so schools etc will be shut.
The whole thing is still ridiculous, in my humble and respectul opinion of course.
This will depend on the individual employer surely? It is compulsory to an extent though. If you normally work Monday's and you are still expected to go in this Monday you will get a days holiday in lieu.
Think its a mark of respect I heard the commentator sayWhy are the soldiers carrying their guns upside down? Is that symbolic of death and something they do in the forces? Don’t think I’ve seen that before.
I imagine the only flexibility employers will have is if employees aren't contracted to work Mondays (or the contract is super vague), other than that, I'd think they'd need some real word spaghetti to get out of giving a statutory day off. This will depend on the individual employer surely?
If they operate a 'X Days leave including Bank Holidays' style policy then their employees may not necessarily get anything extra, it'll be at the individual discretion of the employer.
