Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

Anyway, back on topic, the queen looks terrible in her latest picture, with a walking stick. I don't think she's got long left.

She's 96, at 96 you're basically very old and frail, people can still live for quite a few years.
One of my mother's elderly friends looked quite like the queen does now for something like 20 years, I think she passed away at about 102 or something, IIRC she lost her parents and at least one sibling in the 1918 flu epidemic when she was about 9 or 10.

By the time you're in your 90's you're typically going to be looking frail and probably using some sort of walking aid at least occasionally (my dad started using a stick recently and has taken to referring to it as his "intermittent mobility assistance device".

My grandma lived well into her 90's She wasnt 100% but could still remember everything from her childhood, the main thing is keeping active. Use it or lose it is the game at that age. Losing Prince Phillip will have taken the wind out of HMQ sails more then a little, that would be the main reason I give any credence to concerns because that knocks anyone back a bit and at that age you may falter some.

I believe Parliament can be overruled in the law courts, its not absolute rule. For example the Rwanda detention thing could yet be overruled. I doubt that as its not concerning UK citizens but not every law remains unchallenged.

Duchy originals and profits from the sea wind-farms she collects profit correlated rents from ?

Good to see she had the nous to deny H&M demand for monetization publicity pictures with their daughter.

Sadly I think you're right, I was only saying the same to my wife last night, Her Majesty is slipping more and more from her duties and the public eye. What I dread more than her passing is trying to keep my own counsel whilst those that despise the monarchy egg one another on to more and more outrageous comments.

I am sure I myself give the moderators some grief at times, but have hopefully never been seen to rejoice in an innocent person's passing. I pity their job when the inevitability of her demise arrives.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday too funnily enough (not the moderating nightmare @Chris Wilson!). She didn't look great on the pics of her meeting Liz Truss at Balmoral.

I have no problem at all with the monarchy, over all i think they are a net positive for the country... however when she goes she goes. She has had a damn good innings and if i am even half as healthy as she has been up to her 90s i will be a happy chap indeed.
I know it is not normal practice (because back in the day they didnt live that long) but if i was her i would pass the baton now, and enjoy her last months/years and let Charles take over.

she is 96, of course she is frail!.

Said it on Tuesday when we saw the pics of truss meeting the queen that she looked old and frail and cannot imagine it being long before she’s gone.

I don't think she'll step down. She'll die in the job.
