Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

The official line is still 'under medical supervision.' Wonder how much longer that will last.
They are probably giving the family time to process this, before a formal announcement.

I suspect we won't get an official announcement till after the school day as it gives a chance for the grandkids to be informed in a proper manner.

I don’t see why European football fixtures would be cancelled
Yes doubt the games will get called off featuring non UK teams but what about coverage?

Things like sky and BT, would their coverage get disrupted? even for stuff like the NFL starting tonight?
I know this would be a sad time and everything but I'd rather not be sat watching it for the next week, just be more depressing

Got to admit feeling upset atm just at the thought of her passing. It has to happen at some point but it's still a painful thought - feels the same as a family member really.

She's just been a constant part of public life, and a steadfast icon for the country, being a respectable and admirable representative through many great changes. For me she represents a lot of what's good about the country, and feels like a link to better, more hopeful times.

I'm by no means a royalist, but still will be sad when she goes - I don't think anyone can argue she hasn't been a huge part of our national identity since before most people on here were even born.
Pretty much the same here.

I was talking to my dad about it a few minutes ago and realised i'd got a lump in my throat.

If you've ever been told by a doctor that the person is "comfortable" then you know what that really means.
Yup, reminds me of the call I got 5 years ago from the doctor who'd just been to see my mother at the care home, which ended with the advice to get down there.
