Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

Always sad when someone passes away, but I don't give two hoots about the monarchy or about her as the Queen, so her health isn't of any interest to me. Should abolish the lot.

When the Queen does pass on, it will be very strange without her. As many people only remember the Queen. My parents were born when her father, George VI was on the throne and have no memories of him as they were 3.5 and 18 months old at the time.

Totally pathetic, worrying about someone that has what she has. It’s not like she isn’t getting the best care. She has her family to worry about her. I would worry about the little old lady that can’t afford her bills and lives alone.

Get a grip!

C'mere you, giz a cuddle lil mister grumpypants <3

Struggling to understand how you can (or should) "worry" about someone you havent met -let alone someone of her advanced age.

She has had a good innings - a fantastic, extremely privilidged life. "Work" has consisted of travelling the World meeting people, having lunches and dinners - the best food and drink, waited on literally hand foot and finger every waking moment of her life. Not to mention the best medical care etc etc etc A lot of it hugely tedious no doubt - but hardly "hard work".

Shes done a mostly fantastic job as Queen - a truly awful job as a parent and now belongs in a by-gone era.

Would imagine Chas will come in and do a few years before handing over to "Wills" - the future is safe for the Monarchy unless he does a Harry and self -destructs as well..

I'll always think of the Queen on every Christmas day as far back as the 80s. That's probably the relation most will have to the feeling of the day she'll pass when altogether as a family. It wont be the same.

Prince Charles on Christmas day? That'll be weird.

When the Queen dies it'll be the ending of the WW2 era.

We'll be closing in on a stage were nobody living will have experienced a world war.

Sadly I can see a lot of respect will be lost or mainly forgotten for the future when that happens. Or they simply don't know. History is a forgotten thing. You're even seeing it (loss of respect) just now to a degree on memorials/days.

Of course.

Il never understand the support for a monarchy, I can only think its because some people fantasize over the idea of being a serf.

What would you replace it with? Having a president of head of state isn't much different. The monarchy at least draws in tourists and money.

Or you could make Bojo head of state. What's your preference?

The UK goes on about WW2 too often IMO. As time goes on hopefully it's remembered similar to other wars in history, rather than being rammed down people's throats so often.

Is that all you can think about? She's a human being after......
Nah your right, bank holiday please, couldn't really care less otherwise.
95 is a good age.
There comes a time when someone is just taking resources away from others for no benefit to society and it should become a question of...why are you still around? (disclosure...I don't want to live to a point where I can't fend for myself or when I'm literally doing nothing day to day because I'm too old/frail to do anything else). It might be sick and twisted but I few it as selfish behaviour. Not to mention that my generation (90's kid) probably will never retire unless we get rich. But I'm expecting some kind of WW3 in our life time so....

I guess the...well....Queen of England can be exempt from that but she's had a good run, time to give her son the reign, then we can have another bank holiday is a few years when he snuffs it
