Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

The weekend's forthcoming Pride event on Jersey have used the alleged fact Her Majesty once said she wished everything to carry on as normal at her passing to state whatever occurs the event will not be cancelled. So I guess should the worst happen some attendees to shortly forthcoming events will have to decide what to do by conscience and etiquette....

I am with iamtoooldforthis. The whole country should not grind to a halt either one way or the other, I really hope nothign is cancelled, just have a 1 min silence if it is needed and be done with it....and that is nothing to do with being disrespectful. I find the whole coverage pretty distasteful tbh. it is like vultures circling... keep it on the bbc news channel which is what it is for and keep bbc1 as it should be. it should not have scrapped all afternoon tv imo (and it didnt affect me, i just disagree with it)

I agree with you, in a modern nation in 2022 it shouldn't grind to a halt for this and the TV coverage shouldn't be as over the top as its inevitably going to be..... but it will
