Exactly, I never bought a thing for my CV1
The only thing I bought for my CV1 were cotton covers as a hygene measure - not for comfort. CV1 was very comfortable, but it did start to hurt my head after a couple of hours.

It's funny because I never had to buy any add-ons to make my Index more comfortable (except for prescription lenses, and I have to do that for all head-sets). I guess that's why it's three times the cost of the Quest 2!
Base price of the Quest 2 is amazing, but you really do have to price in the cost of add-ons. I've spent over £100 on front and rear VR covers and a battery headstrap for the Quest 2 which makes the index only twice as expensive.
Cough *wireless* cough
So I discovered last night the Q2 battery does not last long enough, headset shutoff just as I was on finals at Half Moon Bay. Guess I need to look into one of those battery strap things or go back to using the cable.
Both I think
I did 3.5 hours of star trek with the guys Monday night, that's via VD, 20% left aporox
Unless you played with someone else, we weren't playing for 3.5 hours.
that one could work well
I find the Quest lasts long enough for me, its about 4hours it will last
