Quest 2 accessories - recommendations, reviews etc

Bought the Quest 2 recently and really not sure about it....

The strap while adjustable loosens too easily, it's not very good at all.
The link cable is very bulky
The link connection comes loose with very little effort.

Getting disconnected every 5 minutes and having restart everything because the connections come a little loose as well as having to constantly adjust the headset is a pretty crap experience if I'm being honest. It needs a some kind of support to keep it secure, the design is awful imo.

Sounds like your strap isn't quite right. Mine certainly doesn't come loose.

What cable did you buy? Have you tried air link? It's a wireless headset, may as well enjoy it as such!

There's plenty of recommended strap replacements spending on your budget and preferences.

Go wireless. In my experience works just as well as the link cable.
If not, then use velcro ties to keep the cable secure.

As for the strap, well there are plenty of alternatives out there.

You shouldn't have to buy another strap, it's like they intentionally designed it this way to force users to buy accessories. At the very least it should be adjustable stay at whatever adjustment you've made..... It's not fit for purpose, neither is the link connection, that should have been better designed . What idiot thought a type c connection will stay in place with no additional support while moving around connected to a bulky cable......

I'll play around with it a little more, maybe I'll get used to it.... :(

I tried it wirelessly for a few minutes and it was glitchy, I don't think my old router is up to the job.

Quest 2 is sold at a loss, to get it under the £300 price point and is the cheapest 'proper' VR headset while being one of the most capable, and certainly the most versatile.

So there have been compromises with the strap (and other things) to keep the cost low, but they did make it easily replacable. There's also the issue that with head-mounted devices that it's difficult to make a mounting system that comfortably fits all head shapes and sizes.

My Valve Index was comfortable out of the box so I didn't need to buy any accessories (though much later did get some grip boosers for the controllers), but that costs over three times the cost of a Quest 2. I could buy three Quest 2s and still have some money left over for games for the price of the Index, and the Index isn't wireless.
Even with all the accessories I've bought for my Quest 2 (Battery strap and VR covers) the Index is still at least twice the price of the Quest 2.

If you think the Quest 2 is bad, then be glad you didn't experience the original Quest, where I spent a fortune on different comfort solutions and putting a battery counterweight on the back and I never got it 100% comfortable. The Quest 2 with accessories still isn't as comfy as my Index, but it's definitely good enough to play for long periods.

I'm returning my Quest 2, running into other issues, random stuttering. I'm guessing it's a USB issue but I really don't know. Re-installing the display drivers seemed to fix it for a while but they came back when trying to play Eleven Tennis.

Too many issues, so it's going back to the jungle.

I also read that x570 boards had USB 3.0 issues but I already have the latest bios where this should be fixed.... So who knows, I'm not going to spend any more time trying to figure it out.

Shame. You’re missing out on an amazing experience.

Man, why? Seriously, all those issues could have been solvable if you had asked for some help here?

There are even ways to improve the comfort of the stock strap without spending much money. And, I would say you were putting it on wrong, most people do.
